Damn, your panties are twisted. How the hell do you get that Pierce was saying that Ray wasn't as important to the Celtics title? All he said was that Ray didn't hang out with them and didn't go to their events even though they went to his.

And no, saying that Cassell seemed like more a part of the big 3 wasn't it. He was saying it because Cassell hung out with them more.

Welp, you saved me some time because this was going to be my exact response to BK

The crying that Pierce is doing because Ray had his own life and did not want to hang out with them is comical.

So Ray did not want to hang out with the guys he's around several hours daily for 7+ months out of the year and it is an issue? Ray did not want to be fake and attend events for players he disliked and it is an issue?

Ray is disrespectful. How exactly? I'm not sure who the hell would want to hang out with KG or Pierce away from the basketball court....They both seem like true assholes

It seems to me to be what teammates generally do though. Support each other. It's not like they were getting together to play board games on an off night. He apparently wasn't going to charity events or even team dinners. I can fully understand where Pierce is coming from.

With all the talent in the d-league and upcoming draft how could an NBA team next year possibly sacrifice a roster spot to this cancer?

Why is it when players speak their mind and being honest when asked questions, it's considered crying?

Sounds like Ray must have teased Pierce about his "beard" a few too many times

Paul Pierce is a dick though. He keeps saying "it just Ray, thats who he is, not a big deal" but yet he felt it was necessary to make a big deal out of it and paint him in a bad light?

This isn't some lazy POS joe schmo, its ray allen. I think pauly is still a little crabby at Ray for ditching him

Honestly I think Paul Pierce took a few years off here and there too. He was great that year the Celtics beat Iverson's Sixers in like 2002, and he was great in 2008 when they won it all, but in 2010 in game 7 against the Lakers I thought the stage was set for him to come in and make the difference and he just didn't do it.

Don't get me wrong, the guy's had a hell of a career and none of us are really in much of a position to knock him, but there are people who gave more year in and year out Id say.

Reggie Miller on the subject:
“I can’t argue with what Paul Pierce said,” Miller said. “I have to agree with him. I don’t really like to kill guys, but you have to call a spade a spade. I think he’s right on.

“The most important position in the game today is the point guard position, and if you can’t get that out of your point guard … that’s the coach on the floor. That’s the guy that has to get everyone rallying in the right position. So if your point guard is not demanding and is not accountable and is holding everyone else accountable, your team is going to struggle.

“That’s why Brooklyn has struggled because Deron Williams … not only has he not held himself accountable, he’s not holding anybody on the floor accountable, as well.”

We are talking about former Celtics players who have always been known for being horses behinds, so why is anyone surprised?

I'm D Will fan - have been since that's the last time Illinois was in the top 10. He's a good dude and has always played hard.

I have to blame it on Joe Johnson. He reminds me of T Mac - no defense, quiet, and never on a winning team. I don't know what the deal is..?

Rondo certainly hasn't helped the Mavericks team chemistry and barely hit a free throw.

Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Bill Russell. Ex-Celtics sure like to think highly of themselves.

The topic was Paul Pierce - not Shaq Oneal, but I agree. Shaq Oneal has always been one of the biggest horses ass in Sports history, but I never said he wasn't either
