It seems unthinkable right?...so did the others, but two of them have already been traded or let go while the 3rd seem as likely to be wearing different colors than in previous seasons. We all love AM and what he brings to our team, but while attempting to peer into the mindset of SM, you'd have to wonder...does Morris fit the profile of his historical picks at RB? Well, he's not as big and there are deficiencies in his receiving and blocking skills to be considered, but what if SM actually sees RB's in the draft who are owners of the size, speed and skills that he desires?

Now before the hater tabs are posted, or the stupid labels tossed around, remember this is a site where all things NFL related are considered and talked about when the unthinkable (Murray, McCoy, and possibly Peterson) does happen. So, what is Morris's value on the market? Could he possibly be the answer in trade for that pesky missing RT? Does he bring additional draft picks to the team? Which round(s)? Could Minnesota, Cleveland or Arizona or some other team be willing to deal for him?

The difference is Murray and McCoy where either making big bucks or wanting big bucks. Morris is dirt cheap right now. Next year, we may lose him. I don't see a huge trade market for him as RBs are a dime a dozen. We might get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him.

That's just plain silly! So in other words you're saying that unless those other criteria applies to Morris there would be no reason to trade him. Then you further degraded your position by quoting someone who clearly stated that he thought the market would bring a 3rd or 4th round pick for him. They might be a dime a dozen as he suggested but some of those dime a dozen backs are still commanding impressive salaries and contributing to their team success on the field. Clearly you ddidn't read the thread starter, or you would have known that this is just food for thought.

There's a lot of time between now and the start of the season.

i dont see why the redskins would go into next season with redd and thompson as your runners

morris is cheap , if you trade him you are looking for a new starting RB with a shaky qb

some say rbs are a dime a dozen . i disagree when it comes to talented ones

Its funny how so many want to look like a "genius" trading Alfred Morriss or Pierre Garcon or X player but who are you going to replace him with?

AlfMos a good player. Why create a whole that isn't there to maybe fix another hole? Last time I checked John Riggins LaDanian Tomlinson, nor Barry Sanders aren't on the bench to replace #46.

Why in the world would you trade Morris while he's making minimum cash?? Maybe next year when he'll be looking for more $$ but this year would have me . Plus in everything I've ever read on him he's a modest down to earth guy that doesn't seem like he'd be a contract headache.

Only thing silly here are your ideas...Morris is dirt cheap and is one of the leading rushers past 3 years...why trade him? For what? We aren't desperate for picks to trade a starter...this reminds me of your post on Wizards board a little while ago...the one where you suggest the Wizards should try to get Lemarcus Aldridge instead of Kevin Durant...yeah....I rest my case.

Maybe you missed it but SM in clearly in the business of upgrading the talent on this team. As stated in my opening piece we all love Morris, but there are clear deficiencies in his game. Sure he's an outstanding runner, but he does have holes in his game primarily as a blocker in pass pro and as a receiver. There are some very talented backs in this draft who are versatile enough to directly challenge his starting status.

Get over yourself, and try if you're able to see what's going on with this team. As I've stated Morris is a outstanding ball carrier who lacks pass protection and receiving skills. SM is currently upgrading the talent on the roster and this upgrade must include RB's who bring more to the table than Morris does. Call it stupid thinking if that makes you feel better, but eventually you'll come to realize that in this game business is business and no matter how much we as fans admire a player, they all at some point are subject to being replaced.

BTW: With regards to the Wiz.....what would you say that they lacked right now? While K. Durant is one hellava scorer, the Wiz lack an inside presence that can score and open up the floor for their abundance of shooters. In that regards Aldridge fits the team needs more than Durant does. So whatever case you believe you have, it must be based in fantasy and not thoughtful consideration.

It doesn't take a genius to see the need to upgrade good players with better ones, it's the nature of the business. So I'll ask you.......if there is a RB in this draft that SM sees as a definite upgrade over Morris in terms of his size, speed, pass catching and blocking skills, would he be creating another hole by drafting him or filling the hole created by Morris' s deficiencies? The only question beyond that upgrade would be....what to do with Morris.

I'm over myself....that isnt the issue...the issue is you need to realize that you know nothing about business of the game if you think it makes any sense to trade a dirt cheap player who does bring a good skill set to his team instead of replacing him when all you need to do is bring in someone to compliment him. You act like this is still the age of one running back and because Morris doesnt do everything well we need to find someone who does...wrong...we will most likely draft a RB to compliment him and who does the things he doesnt do well...like we did when we had Helu.

I'll bet you anything...that Morris wont be traded in the last year of his contract...you seem to think (and arrogantly know) he will. Want to bet?
