No, The B10 needs to add 2 more teams from the B12. Delany needs to take care of this issue himself. Texas and Oklahoma come on down.

Hell no, no disrespect but your conference sucks

Even if we wanted this, OU will/can not jettison Okie St, and I doubt the Texas legislature will let us leave without TT and/or Baylor. Sucks.

The B10 west would be amazing. I'm sure Nebraska would enjoy playing there old foes every season.

All of the arguments that suggest the BigXII should expand are based on the benefits schools outside of the BigXII will receive. Ie - leveling the playing field, forcing everyone to play a conference championship game, etc.

If someone came to you and suggested you should take a pay cut in order to benefit a bunch of people you don't know and never deal with, you would tell them to go to hell.

I think the BigXII should just sit back, relax, and watch these 14-school conferences implode from all of the issues that come from being too big. And then they should laugh their asses off when schools like aTm and Missouri want back in.

It's because it would be a defacto 8 team playoff. The 8 division winners competing in the conference title games. The 4 conference champs in the CFP.

why even call it a conference then, just have 8 10 team leagues and let the playoffs start from there. no sense being in a conference together if you are never going to play each other.

Would Baylor/TCU fans be mad if they found out that we tanked that game on purpose ensuring that they didn't have a chance at the CFP?

Nice....it's about time.

Mamba, is there a link to his statements?

Maybe I was not listening hard enough when he talked on ESPN, but he did not actually SAY expansion.

He definitely dance all around it, though.

The choices are

1. appeal to the NCAA, again, and cite being left out.

2. Expand.

3. Sue the NCAA.

If the appeal went through, would that mean conference breakups? Why is ten the new number? Why not a conference size of eight?

At times my wife comes into chat about some serious issues right now, and I cannot focus on a lot of things.

I think it would be a stupid move at this point to expand. If there were a couple of ideal non P5 candidates out there then okay, but that's not the case. We would just end up with "meh" additions for the sake of going to 12. That would dilute the product and the schedules even more, and that's something we should be avoiding. You thought the old Big12 north was weak? Picture it with some of the other candidates out there.

Rather than expanding the conference, let's add another OOC and mandate it to be a P5 opponent. Boom. Everyone in the conference gets to 13 games and strengthens the overall SOS.

Just blow the Big 12 up. The football is pretty solid, but long term this conference is dead

Remember our discussion about the championship games in this thread

Statement?

wow. What a pety little man. Here was my response:

Funny. Big 12 looks likely to be in, especially after OSU lost Barrett. Outside of a blowout, I don't see OSU getting in. Big 12 is the only conference that has a shot at getting 2 teams in, but you think they are in the worst spot. Interesting take

The unlikely blowout happened. Sometimes longshots payoff

I laid out exactly what and why and predicted no Big 12 team in the playoff.

Pretty funny, I said worst case scenario and you go ballistic on it, but me not acknowledging your statement on blowout means I am petty.

Just admit you looked foolish.

I said I don't see OSU getting in, unless there was a blowout. That is what happened. not sure what you want. Perhaps we should ask Mamba to give you a trophy for winning the Internet

disagree youre not watering down the conference your beefing up the schedules with technically more P5 schools. if baylor had cincy on the schedule this year the cfp committee has less argument than buffalo. bamas win over kentucky count more than any orfinary ooc opponent would...hell this has been the exact anti-secers argument for years.

also think big12 would have to think outside the box in regards to divisions. simple east/west or north/south is not the answer.

Cincy wouldn't be replacing Buffalo on the schedule, it'd be replacing another conference opponent.

There is no reason to expand. Where is the Big 12 after guys like Patterson, Gundy, and Briles move on. The level of play is much higher than the programs in the league. Big 12 will end up being swallowed

Problem is we would drop back down to 8 conference games and Baylor would just schedule 4 cream puffs. Ohio St, Oregon, Alabama, and Florida St all scheduled teams that could beat them OOC if they didn't play well. Baylor didn't and wont. Baylor made their own bed.
