Gurley was deemed a star since his freshman year, and he hasn't disappointed. UGA has faced South Carolina, Clemson, and Tennessee...

Gurley rushed for 198 yards against Clemson, 131 vs SCAR, and 208 yards vs Tennessee. That's lighting up some legit competition in my opinion.

Ameer Abdullah's toughest 3 matchups are Miami, Illinois, and Fresno St. He put up 229, 208, and 110 yards on those 3. Pretty similar stats, just Gurley played tougher competition in my opinion.

If Abdullah can rush for over a hundred on Michigan st., then he might start getting some of the love that Gurley is getting.

He would be looking at little better at this point if McNeese St. hadn't held him to 3 ypc.

That in part is a good portion of the problem. Nebraska hasn't beat anybody worth a shit yet. Most I'm sure are waiting for the "Pelini" to show up and we start shitting the bed.

Nobody trusts this team as a valid top 15 contender because we've fallen woefully short in big games time and time again in Pelini's previous 6 years.

This weekend's game at Michigan State will shed a lot of light on whether Nebraska is a fringe top 25 team like normal, or a legit top 15 to maybe even top 10 caliber team. I just hope we don't get blown out again to be honest.

very good point.:agree:

I'm on record coming into the season thinking Gurley was better, but Abdullah has taken it up another notch. He's an even tougher runner than last year and a step faster, so I'm sold on Abdullah for the time being.

Abdullah also has a better media story IMO. Of course espn can chose to ignore that in favor of Gurley and the SEC.

Abdullah ran for over 120 against Todd Gurley's Georgia in 2013, I guess that is not legit. Conversely, Gurley ran for 86 against Nebraska.

Why would a game last year they was a shitty rematch game nobody cared about in which Gurley was 80%(maybe) be considered "legit". :L

I think as long as Nebraska continues to win out the season and Ameer keeps putting up the same numbers he will win. If we drop a game or two, which isn't too unlikely then it's going to Gurly.

Nebraska fans haven't told the great state of Alabama thanks yet for Ameer.

A 'gump' is your best player.
