Iowa fans that want Ferentz gone are usually the younger fans who dont remeber that Iowa football sucked a big fat dick for a long ass time before Ferentz. Even if great Hayden Fry never had the success that Ferentz has had as it pertains to truly elite teams. Iowa has 4 top 8 national finishes in Ferentzs 15 years, thats the same amount the program had in its entire history before he took over. The reality is that Iowa is not a destination program for coaches or players so we will never ever be a top 10 team on a consistent basis. Iowa fans dont understand that in some instances.

Michigan is the only reason the BIG is looking bad. MSU is actually better than they've been in a LONG time. PSU is having issues because of the trouble they got in. Other than that, maybe you can say Nebraska's down.. but that started WAY before they got in the BIG. and even then, they still win at least 9 games a season.

The weekend tOSU lost to VT is why the B1G is looking bad and its not just that scUM is making it look worse that it really is. Many of the reason have been discussed over and over from population shift, weather and the schools that are willing to dump so much money into football. Even thought the B1G schools make a ton there are not as many as in other conference who are willing to dump all that loot into facilities and coaches. Could those schools pull coaches from other conferences, yes if they want to pay the money but most wont. Lets face it, if Iowa wanted to put millions into facilities like say Oregon and then decided to pay a HC 10M a year which they could afford, I would guess many coaches would go there. Not all but say 90% would be willing.

I'm pretty sure we are the most exciting team in America. We either are a big play team that runs over our opponents by 40 or we are in a nail biter. And while we have depth issues, nobody in America has fielded better superstars the last decade or so. We've had 3 future NFL hall of famers come through Madison, and they are debatably all outside our top three guys in that span (Ball, Borland, Gordon).

As for the rest of the conference, I'll root for them to the extent it helps the Badgers. That's it. Michigan needs to get their shit together. They never should have fired RichRod. His offense was solid, but he had the worst DC in America. They replaced him with a schmuck. Penn State and Ohio State look promising, and if our offensive coaching can match our defensive coaching, we'll be right with them (and Michigan State some years) at the top of our conference. Sounds good to me.
