If any one-loss team is gonna get in, it will probably be the Irish. Not that I'm saying they're gonna lose...but with their perennial tough schedule, a one-loss ND (as long as it's a loss to the right team at the right time) will get as much weight as an SEC one-loss team.
Not a bad set of picks. Can't harp on him too hard for his homerism, ND will be their if they manage 1 loss or less.
My only question is Auburn, sure they are good enough and I guess the safe pick from the SEC. But BAMA , Georgia, A&M could wind up there just as easily.
Not sold on FSU getting shutout... but it's early and these projections are fun to speculate on.
Foolish for someone to make a final decision. Notre Dame is probably not as good as they looked on Saturday. SEC is a real tossup at this point. PAC 12 is Oklahoma and Baylor and that's it. Hard to see anyone beating Oregon. Michigan State should run the rest of their schedule.
If I had to guess I'd say a loss to either Stanford or Arizona State would be better than losing to FSU or USC.
Marble mouth Lou picked his Fighting Irish!? I'm shocked I tell ya...just shocked!
I'd go the other way for ND. Oregon and ND both play Stanford so if Stanford loses to Oregon but beats ND that could be fatal to ND's chances. While currently SC and Oregon are not scheduled to play.

Obviously I'm biased but barring ND getting upset by a bad team I see them as the second one loss team in, to a one loss SEC champ. Their resume would simply be extremely strong.
Based on two weeks of football I think Holtz made some solid picks, you guys are just haters!
Not sure if you just grabbed the wrong quote or not. I'm just stating that from a playoff perspective ND would be better off losing to SC than Stanford since Stanford and Oregon play each other as well and it will be a common opponent, while SC doesn't play Oregon.
So if Oregon and ND both end up with 1 loss and Oregon beat Stanford while ND loses to Stanford it would give Oregon an edge over ND at getting.
