Huge day for Oregon St. Land that very credible HC replacement for Riley and now they bust this out:

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Building on a 15-year plan to improve its athletic and educational facilities for student-athletes, Oregon State University today announced a $42 million project to expand and renovate the Valley Football Center.

The Valley Football Center expansion and renovation plan calls for the addition of 55,000 square feet to benefit student-athletes, the football program and all OSU athletics programs, which serve more than 500 student-athletes participating in 17 sports.

“Today we are here to share exciting news about another step that we are taking to provide best-in-class facilities,” said OSU Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis at a news conference to announce the plans. “This bold vision and investment in the Valley Football Center is part of Oregon State University’s plans for future investments to complete the renovation of the west side of Reser Stadium.”

Mike Goodwin, president and CEO of the Oregon State University Foundation, said that anonymous gifts totaling $25 million have been secured for the project. The foundation will lead the effort to raise the $17 million balance to fund the expansion. The project is one of several fund-raising initiatives the foundation will launch in the coming months to continue the momentum of the highly successful $1.1 billion Campaign for OSU.

The football team’s locker room, equipment room and sports training facility all will be expanded as part of the project. Construction is slated to begin after the 2015 football season and to be completed by the start of the 2016 home season, tentatively scheduled for Sept. 24 vs. Boise State University.

Have you ever seen the PAC more competitive as a conference and with this level of coaching talent? Wow. :suds:

Hypocrisy abound..........................

Husky fan applauds when OSU raises money, expands and adds to their athletic program.

Husky fan cries and calls foul when Oregon raises money, expands and adds to their athletic program.

Husky fan praises the PAC for having competitive balance and talent

Husky fan hates Oregon for being competitive and having talent

Oregon's success, expansion and aggressiveness raises the bar in the PAC, which is good for everyone.

Just dont expect Husky fan to ever acknowledge the real reason why.....

Ok I think Anderson is a great pick up for Oregon State, but I have to admit I don't understand why he would move from Wisconsin to Oregon State. No offense to the Beavers but Madison looks a lot easier place to win at that Corvallis. Is he just more comfortable in the small town setting coming from Utah State or is Barry Alvarez still think he's head coach and trying to dictate too many things down?

Thanks for the good read RD...I personally couldn't be happier with the new direction of Beaver football. I will always think of Riley et al and wish we could have finished the job with them. To get Anderson out of Consin is just amazing and can't wait to hear it from the horses mouth on why he choose to come to State. Hope he brings his DC with him, who knows right now. Whatever happens, I have got to give Bob DeCaloris an "A+" on how quickly he moved and got a creditable D1 coach of of the BIGGIE conference. No doubt GA has a mountain to climb at State, but COTDAM bring it on now! I feel a whole lot better than I did 2 days ago.

As for facility upgrades...slow and steady, we'll get there in the end. Makes me wanna go out and buy a set of season tickets for myself as a present.

Give Gary the keys to the Beaver Buick and let this guy go wherever he wants to with the football program. Oh yeah, and let Gary have some extra cash to go get quality assistants he needs to succeed. Let's NOT GO on the cheap here either.

Boy would I like the Badger current DC to come on back to the Left Coast with Beaver HC GA as well. Stunning talent he is. Has the Hawaii connection as well...as did M Riley. THIS guy is a wish list magnet @ DC for ANY top tier school. Currently making 480K. Let's tie this coach up in a box, pay em well and get him out in Corvallis too.

Aranda spent the 2012 season with UW head coach Gary Andersen at Utah State. As the defensive coordinator at USU, he oversaw an Aggies defense that ranked eighth in the country in scoring defense, allowing just 15.4 points per game.

In addition to scoring defense, Utah State also ranked among the top 15 nationally in sacks (eighth), pass efficiency defense (10th), rush defense (12th) and total defense (15th). In the red zone, the Aggies were particularly effective, allowing opponents to score on just 63.6 percent of their trips inside the 20-yard line, a mark that tied them for third in the country in red zone defense. USU opponents scored just 13 TDs in 44 red zone opportunities (29.5 percent).

Prior to his season at Utah State, Aranda spent four years at Hawai`i, the last two as the Warriors' defensive coordinator after coaching UH's defensive line his first two years.

During the 2011 season at Hawai`i, Aranda's defense led the Western Athletic Conference and was tied for 15th in the FBS in sacks with 35.

In 2010, Aranda's Hawai`i defense led the nation in turnovers caused (38), while ranking second in the nation in interceptions (23) and ninth in fumbles recovered (15), as well as tying the school record for most defensive touchdowns with five.

Just ignore him. I do. :becky:

Never seen a more singularly obsessed person on any sports board. Just can't get us out of his head for anything. I'm sure he breaks out in a cold sweat at 3am thinking about us. Really is sad to see.

Bowl season starts tomorrow. What are we doing for our pick'em?

Navy is favored by 15. I'm assuming we will shift the line to 15.5. Hell of a cover, but I have to go with the midshipmen. Go Navy!

Army Navy isn't a bowl

The Army Navy game is as much of a post season tradition as anything else in football.

If you want to be a commie bastard then don't make a pick on the game. All good to me.
