Game Thread: NFL DRAFT DAY 2 ROUNDS 2&3

I'm wondering if we don't cut him. I hate even saying it. Gore has been one of my very favorite players since he joined the team, but he takes up a lot of cap space, he's no longer dynamic, and we've got a ton of depth.

Also doesn't look good at all for James.

I'd really, really love the room but I want Gore for at least one more year. I want him around to rub off on Hyde as much as possible. Granted I think mentoring isn't always what everybody thinks it will be but I think it'd be or could be beneficial for Hyde to be around Gore for a while. He can get some things from Gore that he might not get anywhere else. Not that Gore is going to be super excited to take him under his wing but he's never been cold to people underneath of him in the past. Granted this is the closest somebody will come to taking his job in his career.

Hyde needs to work on his vision. The game has got to slow down for him. He could stand to get in slightly better shape for a while, too. That causes some of the dancing he does IMO. I don't want Hyde thrown in there as THE guy right away with just Lattimore and Hunter behind him for THIS season. Not unless Hyde just absolutely explodes right out of the gates early on.

Dude, he played all over the place at NIU. He lined up with the slot receivers all the time.. You need to read more and stop looking at the S label that ESPN gives him...

I did read and most say he played the slot but mostly played safety. I still would of like a true CB. Also negative he is coming of surgery and he is small. Its my opinion. I hope I am wrong. I said its a good future pick but not a great right now pick.

Lattimore is damaged good. Coaches are monitoring him closely and came to the realization that they must count their loses now. Hunter is NOT a featured back in this league. He's a great change of pace back (I mean he's very good but not great) but he's not 25+ carries type of back. Gore needs less carries during the regular season in order for him to carry the bulk of the load during the playoffs. This pick makes a whole lot if sense.

Not to mention Gore has never looked real comfortable running read option plays, and you still see plays where there is confusion in the backfield between him and Kap. Hyde has been playing with Braxton Miller in that Urban Myer offense, and should look way better out there when those types of plays are called.

I love Gore to death, but with this pick I now doubt he makes the final roster.

More like Gore might not even make the roster. Lattimore, Hyde, and Hunter why do they need Gore still? Save the cap space and get rid of him.

So we are going hope either Hunter or the 2 rookies will be Gore's successor this season? Hunter has not proved to be a starting material and 2 rookies hasn't even played a snap in NFL. RB is not like the WR position you can develop a rookie using the #3 WR slot. I highly doubt they will cut Gore.

Both players drafted will be starters or playing a majority of the snaps at RB and NCB before the end of the season, so how won't they help us this year?

Wonder if we use the pick to make Gore think of restructuring for us to keep him on the roster. Want him on the team, just dont like the price.
