Game Thread: NFL DRAFT DAY 2 ROUNDS 2&3

So we are going hope either Hunter or the 2 rookies will be Gore's successor this season? Hunter has not proved to be a starting material and 2 rookies hasn't even played a snap in NFL. RB is not like the WR position you can develop a rookie using the #3 WR slot. I highly doubt they will cut Gore.

Rookie RB's have usually had tremendous success in the NFL. It's one of the few positions to quickly see playing time right away at. True, they do struggle with pass protection, but Hunter has shown that he's a damn good at picking up the blitz, so Hyde and Lattimore can focus on 1st and 2nd down, while Hunter takes over 3rd down duties; until Hyde can show he's good at picking up blitzers, cause he's a superior receiver to any back we currently have on the roster.

Pete Carroll will like Britt's mentality right away. That's extremely high for Britt IMO though. I don't know what position he's best at right now either. He could wind up at either tackle or either guard IMO. My guess is LT but who knows?

94 and 100 is late. 70 is good and 77 is mid. Nothing special. Plus throw in that we might have to cut some of them because we don't have room for all these picks. I do think we trade at least one for next year.

I don't know how 49er fans can be happy about this draft. We have needs and we didn't draft any of them. We had the most fire power in this draft and didn't use it. Yes Ward might help a little next year but I don't expect much from him until next year.

I am surprised they haven't been more active in the second round. I figured we'd move up in that round, not down. Still a lot of good players on the board. Hopefully we'll go get some of them.

Do you really think they are planning on keeping at least 4 RB's on the roster though? Gore, Hunter, Hyde, and Lattimore. I almost wonder if the Hyde pick means Hunter is now on the trade block. I can't see them giving up on Lattimore already and his contract is very team friendly. They just took Hyde so clearly he is making the roster. James is done as a 49er trade or no trade, but I wonder about Hunter's future now if they keep Gore for 1 more season.

Yes. Why not? I'd be extremely ticked if they unloaded Hunter. James will be gone and should've been gone a while ago IMO.
