Wisconsin and Alabama. Excluding Eddie Lacy, there really isn't really another school that has been able to consistently make mediocre backs look like Heisman caliber players like these two have.

Your list, of course.

I maybe looking at it with more thought than saying something ignorant like the current hot schools. Pretty much the entire list is in the top 50 of the World Reputation Rankings. If you excel at any of the schools you will be going to the NFL. Since RB has one of the shortest career's in the NFL, it makes sense to place higher importance on education and job placement after. Luckily for most schools recruits do not think this way or Stanford would be at the pinnacle of CFB. The last schools are more to your liking, but that is only if I could not trade my football abilities for a top flight education, no offense is intended by that.

What in the world are you talking about? The OP was:

Name your top 10 schools you think would give you the best chance to be a great running back if you had your pick.

These days a lot of offenses really do not cater to the running back. They're pass heavy and subsequently they often don't recruit offensive lineman who can run block.

It is way too early for even you to be drinking.

All Backs come to Bama. We get them that first round paycheck and contract. Even though Ingram and Richardson probably wont get a second one.

Not a bad point. I don't agree, but decent point.

If I go to Georgia, I'm goin to play QB, not RB
Not if you are a running back. :L :noidea:

Look at the list of NFL running backs from UGa v. the ones on your list and you will change your list. This is true if you look historically or more recently.

Still dont see the issue. Stanford has been killing it on the OL. Their coach is also young and not looking to go anywhere. He maybe the most likely coach to stick around for the next 5 years. It is the obvious first choice in my book. I apologize if I put in a little added thought into the answer.

BIG12 is no fun for RBs who like to play physical football.

I would go to Kansas State before any of the Texas-Oklahoma schools to play RB.

The game has changed, and so has the mentality.

Scheme used to mean beating a team with X's and O's.
Now it translates into what little Reggie does in backyard football... "Hurry guys, they're not ready , lets try and get them before they're ready!!!"

Alabama, Stanford, LSU, Wisconsin, and Florida State still use those principles. That's what football should look like. Not basketball on grass.

Don't get me wrong, I love the styles of offense Malzahn, Meyer, Leach, and Sumlin run. But if its only working because you're running it really fast and not allowing the defense to get in position, is it really working? Or is it just gimmicky? I'd love to see Malzahn slow down the offense, and then see how well it really works. Just out of curiosity.

That is not what the NFL looks like. Auburn is running a modern version sinlge wing and triple option offense. Their system resembles those old Nebraska teams, so I really dont understand the knock. 2 of best RBs in the NFL currently came from Texas and OU. Please let me know why you wouldnt have Texas on the list, because I have a feeling you have 0 idea of what Strong will attempt to do.

Then you deviated with the Oregon pick and should have put either Florida or Georgia instead of Bama.

Back end was about system and football, but I would not be opposed to making that change

In the last four years, Wisconsin has:

1. Finished four yards away from having the first team ever with 3 1,000-yard running backs. 996 is still the record most rushing yards by a #3 running back.

2. Had a running back tie the NCAA record with 39 touchdowns in a season

3. Had a running break break the NCAA career TD (and rushing TD) record

4. Had a running back be a Heisman finalist

5. Had a running back win Doak Walker Award

6. Had a running back lead the nation in yards per carry

7. Had a running back be on track to break the NCAA career yards per carry record

8. Broken the NCAA record for must rushing yards by a #2 running back (1,444)

9. Broken the record for combined rushing yards by running back teammates

10. Had two running backs finish their careers as nation's leading rusher

11. Finished in the top ten in RB rushing yards four straight seasons

I would pick us without a moment's hesitation. Nobody else even comes close.
