Hopefully we fire Dan during the offseason, Sid & Geno fake injuries next season, & with the 1st pick of the 2015 NHL draft the Pittsburgh Penguins select Connor McDavid :yahoo:

I'd be happy if they could fill out the bottom six with NHL players.

We have a good core, and we don't need any more top six talent, really. We need a third and fourth line that can possess the puck and shut down opponents' top lines, and three legitimate defense pairings, which we probably also already have if we would use the young guys. And a goalie.

MAF is likely gone after this year. Shero will look to deal him, or maybe he'll be bought out. It wouldn't surprise me to see Letang on the market. Someone near the cap floor might be willing to overpay for him.

So you guys wouldn't want Connor McDavid on the 3rd line? Look what Nathan MacKinnon did for the Avalanche. Connor McDavid is supposed to be better than Nathan MacKinnon. We could always get bottom 6 forwards, players like Connor McDavid come around once every 10 years or so.

I don't want to tank while we still have Crosby and Malkin young and on the roster. With a decent coach and bottom six, we should be Cup contenders every year. Wasting any of those years would be foolish, regardless of apparent talents available to us.

Tight ass series here!!!! I'm still predicting 7 games and wouldn't be surprised if game 7 goes into something like 3 OT's to decide which team moves on!!!!! Good luck Doobster and Guin fans!!!!!

In life you either adapt or perish, that's evolution.

Mario --> Jagz --> Geno --> Sid --> McDavid = evolution

haha McDavid would be awesome, but realistically our roster is going to be playoff caliber next year and you can't waste prime years of Malkin and Sid. Also McDavid is an unknown, obviously he looks like he's going to be great, but is he going to be the generational talent everyone thinks he is? Only time will tell, there are no sure things in the NHL.

True, but a Pens fan can dream, right?

What we really need is a defensive minded coach that can make adjustments during a game a between games. All we have now is a clueless dickwad that only knows how to stand there with his arms crossed and say we just didnt get to our game. Im sick of hearing it. He sucks and he has to go. We could really use a goalie that doesnt let in 3 or 4 goals every game too. Imagine what this team could do with a real coach and just an above average goalie. Scoring 3, 4, or 5 goals a game should be enough to win but not with this team, Score a couple goals and take the rest of the night off. WTF. What we watched last night and since 2009 for that matter is unacceptable and disscusting. Why changes have not already been made is beyond me.

Yea, similarities to the weak ass Bolt coaching. D? What D? Doesn't seem to be in their vocabulary. At least your coach stands with a straight face & arms crossed. Bolts, Pooper, is buddy buddy and giggly with his team & reporters! :gaah:

At least the Bolts play their top prospects. We play guys like Orpik Scuderi Adams & Pyatt instead of playing our top prospects.

Yeah man, he has good relationship with the Penguin organization and I guess Sid is his idol, so even if we don't draft him maybe we could sign him as an UFA one day? :hope:

Wait..when is the last time Skid scored in the playoffs? He is a sorry excuse for a scoring leader...he is an assist leader nothing more. This team has always had D as an after thought under Abysmyl. Skid is soft...he is no leader. Body him up and he is done...this is what happens in the playoffs. To think Otherwise is ignorant...
Flower made a dumbass mistake but saved their ass repeatedly, its just his glaring mistakes are more prevalent. Even the national media recognizes Skids incompetence, only us Pens fans seeing thru regular season urine colored glasses think otherwise

We're not trading away Sid scouty, so let's tone down on the Sid criticism.

BTW I'm not making excuses for Sid, he hasn't produced in the playoffs since the 2nd round last season. At the same time, the whole team has been a mess since then. We have had a complete system failure because we can't match up with speedy forwards can't match up against physical forwards, can't even match up when we have the power play. Can't blame it on one person, we have failed as a team.

I am not advocating for a trade but just noting that he is a failure in the playoffs when hitting is concerned and as a leader.
