I'll go with a guy that deserves more recognition as a college qb than he ever got, Colin Kaepernick. First time I ever saw him touch the field he was a freshman getting his first start on the road at Boise State. Kid left it all on the field, and nearly brought home a win with no help from the defense in a triple overtime thriller. I am of course trying to not pick an LSU guy, but I just remember watching him in that game and saying, "Damn this guy is special." He may have not won it all and may never, but I think making it to 2 semi-final games it to a Super Bowl and a Semi-Final in back to back years is pretty special. Below is his first game against Boise.

That was his first start. I was at that game. He carved Boise up like a Thanksgiving turkey on the ground and through the air and damn near single handily won that game for them. Ironically a family member of mine made the game winning/ending sack on him in quadruple overtime.

His senior year he finally got them and ruined Boise's season. He basically won that one for them by himself with a huge hand from Boise's kicker.

He is one of the most under rated college qb's to ever touch the field. He pretty much was winning games for them single handedly.

I agree. He was a stud. I should have hated him in college but could never bring myself to do it. Definitely a fan.

Crouch was cool...but I gotta go with Touchdown Tommie

It's hard to hear in the video, but that radio call still gives me the chills. That was my first memory of Husker football, and Tommie was my favorite player. Here's a pic of me as him for Halloween when I was like 5 or 6.

I had a Frazier jersey with the helmet and pads too. Still have it.

Tommie Frazier is the GOAT. You can't tell me otherwise.

Kirk Gibson...for one play

before he fucked up his legs playing beisbol, the kid had an amazing set of wheels on him.

1978...Indiana @ MSU. State was 1st and goal at the 9yd line...qb Eddie Smith rolls right, lobs one to wr Gibson deep in the end zone sideline...is picked on the fly by an IU corner...clear field ahead.

Gibson screeches to a stop...takes off chasing the free-flying IU corner at LEAST 20 yds ahead...catches and ram tackles the guy ob 70 yards later on the 5.

:omg:

Fuckn AMAZING chasedown...never seen anything like it.
One of the two black guys behind us was howling: "Fastest white boy I've EVER seen!"
(guy said what everybody in the stadium was thinking)

Earl Campbell. I'm not sure if he was the best based on the numbers, but he sure should be the most respect. Not once did I see him do some stupid ass dance in the end zone or after a big play. No taunting what so ever. He just put the ball down and went back to the huddle or sideline. He had total respect for the game, the opposing players, and his teammates. In my book, his talent and his mannerism makes him the best.

Favorite Husker player: Rex Burkhead. He's just a nice kid.

Non-Husker: Herschel Walker. A great player who pissed me off when he signed with the USFL. Still loved watching him run.
