What is it about Heat fans?

BREAKING FUCKING NEWS:
The Miami Heat's fanbase has grown substantially since they have been to the NBA Finals the last 3 years in a row. It's like everyone likes a winner or something. Who knew all it took to grow the fanbase was to win actual games?

Difference is the Lakers have proved to be finals contenders at least a couple of times each decade. The Heat were a laughingstock until 2006. And then again until 2011.

And again in 2014/15

You obviously dont know what the definition of laughing stock is. Since becoming a franchise in 1988, the Heat have 10 division titles and 3 NBA titles. Not too many teams can lay claim to a better record than that.

That's exactly correct... ^^^... and those who claim they were Heat fans before LeEasyWayOut never announced themselves as such until AFTER LeShortCut came to Miami.

In other words "Heat" fans are made up of about 75% LeBron Bandwagon Boys, 20% casual, and about 5% true, die-hards... and getting back to the OP, that's why "Heat fans" are the worst fans in all of sports.

I seem to remember the Heat being pretty good during the late 90s and then once again for a couple years before that 2006 title. A rookie Wade hit a game winner in his first ever playoff game in 2004 and helped get the Heat to the 2nd round in 2004 and then to the conference Finals the next year. I guess I just imagined all that.

I lived in Key Biscayne at the time and went to Game 4 of the ECF in Miami (Bulls / Heat)... suffice to say about one-quarter of the stadium was empty until mid-way through the first quarter AND I'd say about 25-30% of the crowd were fellow Bulls fans.

In other words Miami has always been a horrible sports town.

However there also are 2 or 3 good ones here. They know who they are both good and bad I believe.

The team he calls a "laughing stock" from 2007-2010.. was a playoff team 3 of those 4 years. Either he has redefined the term laughing stock, or the bloke is just talking out his bloody ass.

I have nothing against the Heat, their players or their fans. It's the bandwagoning idiots that have never even stepped foot in Miami yet claim they're the next "dynasty" that piss me off.

Anyone with a decent basketball IQ agrees that Miami have the best team in the league yet at the same time this team isn't anywhere near as dominating as the Lakers, Celtic and Bulls once were.

If you've been following the league for more than a decade you can see this team is in a clear decline. The league is getting younger, faster and more athletic while Bosh and Wade are getting older and slower. Before you know it, the big 3 will be "just lebron" and that's only IF he decides to stay in Florida.

So I say, enjoy it Heat fans. Enjoy it for as long as you can because it certainly doesn't last. The Pacers are only half a step behind you to claiming the East.
