It took tOSU 24 games before they got their first win.

Be honest. Would you rather have that streak where no one you know alive was there to see it, plus the fact that the teams were so unbalanced due to Michigan playing the game for much longer, or the one tOSU currently has where its fresh in your memory and your living in it currently and current bragging rights.

Trust me, you Nuts fans will be running around in your scarlet and grey, "Urban Meyer edition" Underoos, long into your 70's. Regardless of how many years have lapsed, the fall of Tressel will not deter you from removing your 8x10s, of the former and tarnished sweater-vest, from your nightstands. There will never come a day when you call this era "ancient history." Enjoy it while it lasts. :D

The difference is that this is Hoke's first big stop, and when refering to his record prior to Michigan you have to put in context to where those jobs were. He spent the majority of his head coaching career at Ball St, which was a sub .500 program when he took the job. It then took him several years to turn the program around because......well it's Ball St. But the fact that he was able to take Ball St. to a 12-1 season is a testimate to his coaching ability. And SDSU wasn't much better. So the reason he never won any conference titles at those two stops because right when he got those programs to be a the point of winning said titles, he got the offer for the next job. So instead of looking at the titles (or lack thereof) consider that Hoke has recieved conference COY honors at all three stops.

Meyer turned teams around in 1 - 2 years in Mid Major conferences and won conference championships in said conference. Utah was 4 - 6 the year before Meyer got there. In two years he went undefeated.

Meyer still doesn't have "his guys" in the system yet. How long will it take Hoke to get his guys in there? Another 4 years?

Except for he had more talented guys and guys that were close to "his" (Miller ~ Tebow). While Hoke on the otherhand is dealing with a program that went from pro to spread back to pro again.

Bowling Green =/= Ball State and Utah =/= SDSU

Both of Hoke's stops were harder places to win than Meyer's.

Based on what. None of them had any more accomplishments than the other.

In fact SDSU might have had more accomplishments than Utah prior to Meyer's arrival.

I think you should be done making excuses.

Urban's first 2 stops were Bowling Green (MAC, like Ball State) and Utah (Mountain West). BG was 2-9 the year before he got there and was 8-3 and 9-3 in 2 seasons there. Utah was 4-7 in 2000; Urban was 10-2 and 12-0 in his 2 years there. He was MAC COY once and MWC COY twice, plus national COY and Sports Illustrated and Sporting News Coach of the decade 2000-2009.

He hasn't won COY at Ohio State (neither did Jim Tressel despite winning 5 B1G championships in 10 years).

Sounds like your AD fucked up. Blame that on him.

You're never done when you're trying to explain a 2-11 record.

Who takes the bulk of the load once Miller, Hall and Hyde are gone? Jalin Marshall and Dontre Wilson are quite smallish.

Actually, tOSU got their first win in 1919. That was the 15th game in the series. Michigan led 12-1-2. They played to ties in 1900 and 1910. They did have about 18 years head start in the sport so it took the Buckeyes a few years to catch up.

Bowling Green has the benefit of living a talent rich state, and only has one major school to take the top talent. Ball St. is in Indiana, how many top recruits come from there? Not to mention that there are three major schools.

And if SDSU was a better program than Utah, why is Utah in the Pac-12 right now and SDSU still in the MWC?

Ezekial Elliott 6'1" 218 F, Bri'onte Dunn 6' 220 SO, Warren Ball 6'1" 222 F

I think Dunn and Ball are both redshirt F. Elliott is a beast for his size. I think he gains another 10# easily.

* Dunn + RS SO

Ok, even if we give you that (which we don't, btw), why did Urban get better jobs than Hoke?

I'm surprised Dunn has seen little to no action thus far in his career. It's too soon to say he fizzled but I thought he'd at least have some garbage time production by now. Is he in Urban's doghouse perhaps? I think he'll be a true junior heading into next season. Damn near went to Michigan and probably would have started the last two seasons.

He played some as a freshman but refused to play special teams so he didn't get to play.

He redshirted this year because no one was going to supplant Hyde at #1. It may not work out for Dunn, though, because Ezekiel Elliott looks to be the real deal. You never know, if he gets his head on straight he could still be a big factor for the Buckeyes.
