Wait, when was Oregon's last national title?

irrelevant. he is trying to tlak about how Oregon isn't shit. Well, Oregon is currently on its way to 5 straight BCS bowls and USC finds itself with another terrible season.

They also cheated and got hammered for it.

their recent success was a fraud.

when was SC's last national title. Yea, tell me more World War 2 stories grandpa.

You really dont have respect for NCAA royalty do you. Many teams i pick on and make fun of, but I respect teams like USC, Michigan, tOSU, ND and a select few others for what they have done. Then we have the johnny come lately's like Oregon who dont get the respect yet due to the Boise Syndrome, you simply have not done enough to earn that respect yet. Win a title, just one, then talk.

USC is one of the 3 or 4 programs in the country that are ALWAYS one recruiting class away from a top 10 again no matter how far that program slides. Once they get back to full recruiting it will only take a decent HC to take over the Pac again. This is a pure fact and always has been.

Oregon MUST maintain their current status or they will fall back well below where USC is now. They do not have that national staying power. Never have, never will. In fact there aren't any other teams in the Pac that do. Runs to the top happen to other teams, but staying there and getting back to there after a fall are nowhere near what USC has. There isn't a single student of college football that doesn't know that.

Other teams with that power? For sure ND and Bama are programs that can rebuild out of the ashes quickly. Probably a few arguments why Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Florida, Maybe Miami and FSU of the more modern era. Georgia has a long history and can build a team back fast.

Oregon isn't even in the same zip code as any of those. Neither is UW nor any other Pac team outside of USC, the granddaddy of fast rebuildable teams. PERIOD.

a logical post from you. I agree USC can bounce back in a heartbeat, absolutely. BUT even when USC was near the top with Pete, back in 09 they still lost to Oregon. Since the Ducks have climbed to the top, USC hasn't been able to rebound.

Not sure Miami will ever be a power house again. Teams with the ability like you're talking about probably include the ones you've mentioned plus Texas, Ohio state, Lsu, Oklahoma, and Florida as well.

Also, Wiz. With your list, I think it is utter BS that Washington cant build something either. Oregon and Washington could both easily run this conference. Battling each other year in and year out for the North title with winner being favorite to win the PAC. You now have the facilities.

I'll give you Texas. Really shouldn't have left them off that list. In fact if I really had a 4 team super group it would have to be USC, Texas, Bama, and ND in no particular order. I did say tOSU and Florida. I know there are arguments for LSU, Georgia, etc but not sure they rise to that elite of the elite status that makes those top 4 ALWAYS rebuildable very very fast just because of their perceived prestige.

That aint shit because if you dont win it all, you are just one of the losers. You should show respect to the teams who have achieved what yours has faile dot do every year of its existence, atleast they made it to the top, your team is still trying to climb that hill and failing.

I think we can all agree its pretty bad when an SEC team has more Rose Bowl wins than Oregon.

Yeah, all those BCS bowls are consolation prizes for being not quite good enough.

I didn't say UW couldn't build another run. They have done it a few times throughout history. I also didn't say Oregon or another Pac team couldn't go on the same kind of run you are enjoying now at some point. All I was saying is be careful dissing on the history or current status of teams that are slam dunks for rebuilding like USC. There really are no other programs outside of USC, Texas, ND, and Bama that can seriously pull in 5 star recruits at will even if they haven't been to a bowl in a couple of years. ALL they need is a coach with any draw and their prestige will be enough to bring in those big gets. The teams just on their heels are the Nebraskas, Floridas, Oklahomas, etc but even they aren't quite what those top 4 are IMO.

UW, Oregon, and even Stanford would not find rebuilding to be anywhere near as easy. Doesn't mean you can't build one, but the road is much much tougher and takes a lot more time.

Thats not really the way to look at it, but its the reality of it in the end. Most teams can be damn proud of a BCS bowl, but for teams like mine, we shoot for way more. He wears it like a badge of honor, but slams other teams who have way more history than his just because they have had help not being good recently.

I will take a team who has won a title at some point in their history over one who hasnt anyday.

Bama has four in its history, according to its record books, that more than all but four of the Pac 12 current membership. Surprised me when i read it.

The game that changed the south.

BAMA faced a heavily favored UW and got the W. :suds:
