The Myth of Peyton Manning Continues

I think most of you need to re-take 6th grade English class.

I said *nothing* derogatory about Manning... I did say derogatory things about the way the media and the front offices talk about Manning (i.e. the myth).

and get the usual diarhrrea about Tom Brady, my hate for Manning, Manning better than Brady,
if this crap were directed at Brady...

. when none, absolutely NONE of these responses have ANYTHING to do with the original premise of the thread.

You guys are like a bunch of trained circus aninals Use the words Peyton Manning in any thread and you lose your ability to process information and begin regurgitating the rehearsed response you *THINK* applies to the stimulus... but you don't understand the content of the stimulus

Wake the fuck up and learn how to read and think about the content of what is being said.

Seriously you are the one that needs to wake up. You attack the media for doing the exact thing you are doing yourself in giving more to a story about Manning than should be. As a Bronco fan I am glad he called his friend but don't read anymore into it than he made a simple phone call.

Your original premise is just flawed in every superstar player gets this same attention. I remember just a month or so ago there was this huge deal about Brady and Welker hanging out after the Broncos had signed him of this was Brady showing how upset he was with the Patriots for not signing Welker back. It comes with the territory of being a superstar in the world.

You still have yet to acknowledge your stupidity towards the idea that other teams do exactly what the Broncos did in having Manning call his friend. Teams use players beyond just being actual football players all the time whether it be through advertising, fundraising events, dinners with big wigs, or whatever else. You are the one again that needs to wake up if you don't realize this kind of stuff happens all the time.

So your response is to call Manning a loser even though the guy has done more for this game and individuals than almost every single NFL player over the last 15 years? Playoff record aside this guy has been nothing but a class act from the moment he was drafted. Fans, coaches, and teammates have nothing but great things to say about all that this guy has done for them.

Are you that dense that you can't perceive that fact that I did not criticize Manning, but rather I criticized the legion of knuckleheads that want you to think he is an offensive coordinator or an assistant to the general manager... or maybe next they will tell you that Peyton Manning is commissioner of the NFL because he lectured a player on steriod use.

I don't make this stuff up, I read it from very reputable sources

Yet you choose to ignore those who actually do reply with something other than an insult. You continue to ignore the fact that some of us showed you that this kind of stuff happens all the time in the NFL of FO people asking the star players to talk to other players to try and recruit them.

Also you continue to gloss over the fact that even though you keep pointing out that the media keeps blowing these kind of things out of proportion and making the legend of Peyton Manning more and more you by making this thread have done the very same thing. Hypocricy is thy name.

Then he is a "coach" on the field
Then he is as good as on offensive coordinator

Now, they make him out to be an Assistant General Manager.

What will they next tell us Peyton Manning does? Run the Broncos? Run the NFL? President of the United States? Pope?

When a back up quarterback in Vince young and a back up wide receiver who said a bad word dominate football news it is a slow day.

How do I know Elway was joking...because I have listened to just about every interview he has done and he loves to joke around with the media and anybody with half a brain should be able to see that in that statement. Don't know many who would actually take it seriously
