In the interest of keeping it lively during the nearly unendurable weeks until the first preseason games and with great confidence that all of you know me and appreciate that which I would like to think passes for a sense of humor, and you realize the veritude with which I opinionate and through our long history, you know how elated I am to be a 49ers fan in this era (and by era, I mean the Kaepernick era, you can call it the Harbaugh era if you want. I won't argue (too much)).

I don't know about you folks, but seeing all of the fans of other teams talking about CK as being hoodie, or a gangsta, or 'speaking out of turn' (meaning, I think arrogance), and wait and see what it's like this year, when teams have had the opportunity to really game plan him and the general flash in the pan vein...etc., blah blah blah.

If anybody is reading that crapola, and buying it, I'm predicting you need not worry. The reason all of these people are naysaying is because they either; hate the 49ers and are scared shi*less, or loved Alex Smith - understandable (not to me, but to someone).

I predict he (CK) will rewrite record books. In 49ers stature, he won't replace Joe, but he may well bypass everyone else, including Young - heck, he's beaten Green Bay in the playoffs, legitimately (something Young never was able to accomplish - yeah the one victory unfortunately comes with an asterisk).

You have a really fucked up and distorted memory of the Steve Young years... I have to assume that in your anger of the 49ers choosing Steve Young you stopped watching and only checked scores from time to time. The 1996 and 1997 wins by GB deserve an asterisk just as much as the 1998 win by SF.

Whoah. You don't compare a player who started part of one season with arguably the best of all time at his position.

I'm not angry. Just not a Steve Young fan. And while I'm at it, why don't you F.O.? Do you know what that means?

It is to be expected after suffering through the Alex Smith years. I wouldn't be too critical. I know I think way too highly of Kaepernick myself, just because he is so much better than Smith. Maybe not to this guy's level, but I'm certainly on the bandwagon.

You don't tell me what to think and I won't tell you what to think. How about we start there?

When what you think is stupid, I'll absolutely point it out.

Smith had to learn a different offense with a different coordinator almost every single year. I don't think he's amazing, but I think it was made far more difficult on him than it should have been.

Oh, I know, I was pretty understanding of his circumstances... a lot more than most. Doesn't change the end result though. Plus this is the NFL, the QB takes all of the blame when a team doesn't meet fan expectations. Well, most of the time, some fan bases will blame the defensive coordinator when their star QB throws a dumbshit hail mary in OT that gets Intercepted and leads to a FG that loses the game.

Some people are immune lol. I get being happy with your guy, but the hate for smith is silly. So is the title of this topic.

It is silly, it would take way too long to try and explain it. Not even sure I could, since I don't even understand where most of it comes from.. I just accept it and move on.

To sum it up though, after so many years of great disappointment in the #1 pick, such quick success by Kaepernick would make any fanbase overvalue the guy. I'm sure you guys went through that from Bledsoe to Brady. Maybe more justified since his takeover season ended on a higher note.

There's no asterisk there.

Yeah just a little. I mean comparing the two is as stupid as it gets.
Gosh guys, and I mean both Boston Troll and JDM. You're wrong on so many levels. If I was much more patient I would explain, but I suspect you are good at misunderstanding stuff.
