I guess I can't fault them for taking advantage of it, but look at the league these days... it's all about scoring. It used to be a big deal when a team got hot and even got close to 100 points. These days it's not rare when both teams reach 100. Goes to show you how good Jordan was to be able to average over 30 for his career.

I guess you are blind to the fact they used to score more, the 90's could be a little exception. MJ got every call and was the biggest crybaby.

And just an example the 95-96 Bulls averaged 105.2 ppg. Yah, they were really struggling to get to 100.

SMAN does have some very good points and for someone that is a troll according to some of you why waste your time on this thread? Could it be that there is some truth to this thread?

Your hatred for Lebron is making you very delusional bc every great player gets to the line for a reason. Durant got to the line almost TWICE as much as Lebron. So you will be happy when he leaves too?

Great players draw players, that isn't a suprise.

You're right. I can't stand the guy. To do what he did to Cavs fans is unacceptable. He made numerous statements saying he was staying Cleveland knowing full well that he was getting the hell out. Then to top it off he holds a press conf. to announce his decision. He has the biggest ego in sports I've ever seen... and I've loved every minute of him not being able to back it up. But really, this isn't the first time we've seen it. Back in 08 when they had the best record in basketball, he had a chance to sign someone on that could have really helped. What does he do? He goes out and gets Shaq. He has no one to blame for that botched season but himself. He thought he was better than he really was.

Also, don't assume that I was a Jordan fan. Back in the day, I pulled against him.. but only because he was unstoppable. I just wanted to see some other team win for a chance. But now that he's gone, I have no problem recognizing just how good he really was.

MJ couldn't guard PF's, James can.

Steals and blocks aren't all there is to defense. Remember Dennis Rodman? He's a perfect example. He was one of the few players who could guard Shaq effectively. And he gave away 5 inches in height and 100 pounds in weight.

I love how players cant adapt their game to match the rules and tendencies of the refs. Jordan shot plenty of free throws

Did you read the part where I said I COULDN'T fault these guys for taking advantage of the rules? Still, I hate seeing the shot fake, then when they've got the defender in the air, they jump up into the defender and throw up a crap shot just to get the foul. I can't stand seeing that and it shouldn't result in free throws.

"And FORGET about comparing him to MJ....That's long over. Maybe the media forgives Lebron for his many chokes, and bronze medals, but any true basketball historian doesn't..."

MJ was great, but his legacy has been written.

James still has another 3-4 years before he starts to show signs of slippage. And will probably play another 6-7 years at least.

He has plenty of time.

Not sure about the rest, but I'm a recent refugee from SI's Fan Nation and am here to talk sports.

Overhyped is a good word. Been that way since day 1.

And, for sure, anyone would love to see LeBron on their team. I have had rubbed hands and cackled evilly at the wild fantasy of LeBron playing for Popovich.

Kidding? I would love it if he came to the Lakers....

*Realizes it's a reach*

Yeah, just saying that on this particular forum, the biggest anti-LeBron fan base seems to consist of Laker fans. You will find yourself in a large minority being a Laker fan that defends LeBron.

James basically is a power forward... he probably doesn't want to be, but that's where he's the most dangerous. Jordan made a career out of being bigger and more athletic than any other two guard out there. He shot over the smaller guys and when they put a big man on him, he just went right around him. In my opinion, James still has not figured this out just yet. Let's face it, he's the best overall athlete on the floor in every game. But he seems to like to start on the perimeter. He's come a long ways, but he still doesn't shoot well enough to do that... and while he can take just about anyone off the dribble, this ability will start to fade VERY quickly as he gets older.

I don't know........I mean, there is no one out there who is as versatile and able as Lebron. So it's kind of difficult to over-talk the guy.

He can play virtually any position on the floor, and his wing span is huge.

If he had the same kind of confidence that a guy like Jordan had, then he would be a lot better than he currently is. There is no ceiling for Lebron James. He could be the best ever if he wants.

I keep an open mind. I blog at a website and try not to be a blind homer.

We're all homers to a certain degree.

Most definitely a homer.

Off topic but when the Texans play the Raiders, Houston is in a must-win situation. Either losing to Matt Schaub or David Carr's little brother would be totally unacceptable/
