I really like our OLine commits. I'm also a big fan of Scheel. Fast (sub 4.5) and wants to play. Rumor is that he's been told he'll have a shot at QB.

Scheel's a good lookin player. Don't know the particulars about how solid he is for Iowa or how hard Nebraska has gone or is going to go after him. I do know he has a Nebraska offer and he'd be dumb not to at least take a visit.

Has anyone heard any additional info on Piersbacher's Alabama offer......is he going to make an official visit? I know the kid was exicted and Tweeted/FB'd the offer when it came through but since then he has remained fairly quiet. That, imho, would be a big blow if he were to de-commit.

From what I've seen, he's all Iowa. If I were a HS kid, I would be over the moon with a Bama offer. But from what I've heard, he's been a Hawk fan since he was a kid. As soon as he committed, he was tweeting other recruits to come here. I'm thinking he stays.

I think like anyone in that position, you would be thrilled that your accomplishments get noticed by one of the best schools for the sport, but in the end, if you are on balance, you have to look around and do what is best for you. If you grow up in Iowa your whole life, moving to Tuscaloosa Alabama is going to be a huge change for what you know...still it can be done, but is that what you really want at 18?

Also, given the situations, would you play a lot at Bama or would you have a better shot to play right away at Iowa?

It'd be nice if KF went after the Pitt RB (Rushel Shell). CBS ran a story saying he was leaving Pitt for UCLA. However, he's got twin daughters and now wants to stay closer to home. Sounds like Pitt isn't letting him back in. Iowa...much closer to home than UCLA...

Cedar Rapids Xavier defensive end/tight end Matt Nelson committed to the Hawkeyes today, so another of the top in state recruits commits, that is great news!

6'8" defensive end, I love it! Picked Iowa over Stanford, ND, Florida St, etc. etc. Get this kid juicing so he can gain another 40-50lbs, he's only listed at 240 right now. Oops, did I type that out loud?
