Yes. Him and Harden will be great together. All Houston has to do is find a head coach who cares about defense and run actual sets on offense.

so, with practically all the Lakers haters hoping/predicting that Howard's gone, do we get to bring this thread back and laugh if they're wrong...?

i understand haters gonna hate, but wow...

Unless Dwight is a clown why would he come back?

To play with Kobe for 2 yrs?

Nash is old and washed up while Pau probably won't be there after next year.

Basically if he re-signs with them he is basically hoping/praying they sign a top player eventually.

Gotta love bk, still hoping and praying that Dwight is stupid enough to walk away from $30 million. :hope:

By the way, been on any Carnival Cruises lately?

You better hurry up and help Micky, otherwise he isn't going to be able to keep the team together much longer!! :becky:

Is it true that next seasons Deadliest Catch is going to be about Carnival Cruises? :pound:

I hope the Mavs avoid Howard like the plague.

You cannot build around him. He is a role player, not a superstar. He's going to get VASTLY OVERPAID by somebody, and I hope it's not us. That guy has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he cannot carry a team, or put up when the team needs him most. That "effort" he just put forth was pathetic.

Gee, I don't know. Maybe because the Lakers can pay him $30 million more than anyone else and because they will re-build around him in 2015!!

First things first. Howard really, and I mean really needs to work on his offensive game.

Yeah he does. D'Antoni was quoted as saying that if Dwight comes back, he is going to have to expand his game on offense. I saw a couple of moves that he seems to have added since he became a Laker, but they were very "stiff looking". You could tell that he is just adding them.

And he needs to shoot 1,000 free throws a day, every day in the off-season.

Welp, y'all are hoping that Dwight walks away from 30 mil AND the 80 mil clause in his addidas contract that he cashes in on only if he stays in LA or NY. He'll be the future of the franchise and we will get someone for future purposes in 2014 or 15(have you guys seen the list of those free agents?) If he wants to walk away from that(which I don't think he will), then more power to him.

I just don't get why you all want him so bad. He doesn't suck, but he's not worth a max deal, no way no how.

Dwight has a decision to make. Does he care about titles or money more? LBJ had that decision to make and he chose titles.

Dwight is a pretty dumb guy so I would not be surprised if he chooses money

It is not set in stone that any of those top free agents will sign with them.

You sound like Mark Cuban. He was so sure that he would be able to get Dwight or D-Will that he let guys like Chandler, Barea, and etc walk....Look where they were at this year.

It is a risky gamble.

Yeah, cause the Lakers never win championships. Did turnip steal your screenname? Because you are seriously venturing into his kind of posts.

Of course it's not set in stone, but since when have the Lakers ever had trouble signing free agents? Isn't that part of why so many of you hate them? Because they "buy" championships?

So go ahead, cross your fingers :hope: pray or whatever you need to do. Just don't be surprised when the Lakers do what they have always done.

The difference between the Lakers and Mark Cuban is that the Lakers have never had a problem getting free agents to sign with them and they have more money!!

Kobe won't be here in 2 more years. Basically if he re-signs with the Lakers he is basically just hoping they sign one of the best players in the world.

After getting himself ejected elbowing people and jawing at Kupchak, I'm not sure anyone would want Howard on their team

but the difference there is that he tried to lure Deron there with an older Dirk, there was clearly no future there so he chose a better situation in Brooklyn. Now if Dwight leaves, THEN we'd be in a situation somewhat similar to that, but not quite the same.....because if Kobe goes, we'll have the money to sign 2 of those guys in the 2014 class. If Dwight stays, he'll be the younger piece that could lure someone from that class.

Exactly!! The plan with Dwight from Day 1 has been to have him with Kobe for 2 seasons and see if they can squeeze out 1 more championship and then re-build around Dwight in 2015 when there will be quite a few high quality free agents available.

It's what the Lakers said when they got him and what Laker fans have been saying all season long!! How did you miss it?

Heck, jefe had turnip's panties all in a twist on cbs because he pointed out that Lebron will be a free agent in 2015 and then suggested that he might sign with the Lakers.

Why do you think I keep giving you crap about Carnival and Arison not being able to afford to keep the team together?

I don't honestly think Lebron is going anywhere, least of all to the Lakers, but there will be plenty of free agents available any of whom, paired with Dwight, would make the Lakers contenders!!
