Damn it, I want a division plan where we get to play the Astros 20 times a year. The A's are sure enjoying that so far this season.

Houston wont be this bad forever. They will be stacked sometime in the next 5 years.

That is the ebb and flow of the game...

It's not far from the truth that a group of hard-working, objective baseball lovers could solve some of the sport's biggest problems by making some tough decisions. I'm not saying it would be best for owners and players, but would most certainly uphold the integrity of the game and cause ticket prices to stabilize or drop.

Making a food/beer run to be prepared for first pitch later.

(looks around) so I guess someone finally cleaned up the room

I just got rid of one of the threads. A few were bumped, but I removed those comments to eliminate the bump.

Other than that, no more trolling. It was just a panty-raid, and they left their panties :)

I believe that HOU has just started what Wash did recently : low(er) salaries and huge suckitude for a few years so get early draft picks, trade away best players just before FA for young talent in return, then sign a few key, expensive FAs when you have loads of young talent and then have a 3-7 year window when you can win it all.

Washington did a great job building their team over a 3-4 year period, and then significantly raised payroll at the right time to take advantage of it.

Luck does have a part in that, though.

Washington fell into Strasburg and Harper, but they did have the Zimmerman(n) brothers and made savvy trades (Gio, anyone?). Meanwhile, Houston drafted Correa #1 over-all. He may be good, but he was drafted for signability, not pure talent.

Fucking MLB.com...

Can't watch the game tonight. Isn't there a lawsuit in the works regarding this issue?

Will believe it when buster is in the squat.

I would actually not be surprised if it happens, though. Assuming the whole thing is Timmeh-based, I think Timmeh has just about emptied his superstar account on this team to be able to dictate these types of things.

I am not convinced it is a Timmeh-based issue though...
