Unfortunately, this will be dictated by the opponents ability to score. If we get down by more than one possession, Tim will throw the hat and let the chips fall where they may.

Troof.

As long as NU's not giving the short field or special teams scores that should somewhat limit the chances of getting down by 2 scores. Looking at what NU has remaining regarding opposing offenses, they should be able to stay in games with that gameplan. Everybody but Michigan anyway.

HOLY SHIT

I have been harping on it for the better part of a year.

I think I've created like 5 different threads on it since last december.

It is the single biggest thing holding back this football program.

How many times have I mentioned that we would have won that game against Ohio State if we didn't go -3 in the turnover battle?

Not only that, but we didn't exactly turn the ball over in places where we could make up for it.........we turned the ball over at the doorsteps of our own endzone.

That stat is misleading tho, when trailing, we're likely to press and turnover more. Making the stat self-fulfilling

Turnovers did lose us the game against Ohio State though.........if not for the 2 interceptions in the first half, we would have never been pressing in that game, and probably would have taken a large lead into halftime.

^^ this...Taylor would make less mistakes if we could tackle a fucking running quarterback

I actually stated before the game that: 0 turnovers we win handily, 1 turnover it's a tight game, 2 turnovers we lose, 3 we get blown out. :cool2:

I wes dead on en sech.

I completely disagree with Taylor's statement about how, down 18 points late in the 3rd quarter, he needed to press and "make a play".

I hope to god that is not what Beck is teaching him. The offense is much more productive/lethal when Taylor just makes his reads and gets the ball to his playmakers instead of forcing it downfield.

If it's not there throw it away and live to see another down. This apparent philosophy of pressing when you're down and trying to do too much is exactly what HWSNBN teams did.

Taylor forcing the ball downfield is NEVER EVER EVER going to produce good results.

If it's not there I don't know why he doesn't just take off running.....

It's like Beck wants Taylor to forget that he's the fastest player in college football. That is a potential TD that instead results in an INT. Every time he takes off running it's a potential TD.

Taylor thinks he's gonna be a pro style QB some day. That's why he slides most of the time.

A N/S running safety turned wanna-be pro-style QB in a zone read offense.

Good thinkin' Bo :thumb:
