Maybe I'll email you some if I remember. Saw warmups, was surprised how poorly everyone shot in warmups pre-game. I don't know if they are just working on their weaknesses, but with no defense, they should be shooting at least their in-game percentages. I looked at one or two at a time for 30-50 shots, so there's a chance I caught them all at the wrong time. I could have also miscounted when I was tracking two players. More later, as it is late here.

Here's the first few sentences from a recap of a Jazz game I went to in 2010-2011. I noticed then too how poorly the Jazz shot in warmups:

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Pregame:

45-50 minutes before tipoff, a bald Jazz player was warming up. It took me an hour to figure out it was Francisco Elson.

Omri Casspi was the other player warming up. He took 6-7 halfcourt shots.

There was one fan who had a Stockton jersey, with the purple mountains.

15 minutes until tipoff:

* The Jazz missed approximately 25 out of 30 shots on jumpers and layups. I couldn't believe it.

Not anymore. :) :(

Did you move to be closer to you or your wife's family? Better job?

None of the above?

What are the pros and cons you're feeling?

Are you happy to leave Washington because of that new law that was passed?

Or are sad because you left before it was passed?

I moved to be near family. My wife is from another country and I didn't want to split vacation time two different places. My daughter can see one set of grandparents all the time and a longer time for the other than it would living in California (Washington was never a consideration). Then, when her family comes to visit, we see both. I grew up literally next door to my grandparents; we now live close (not next door) to my daughter's grandparents.

Mary Jane can still be a federal offense and I need to stay in good standing with the Bar and conservative clients, so that never was a consideration. :)

I'm glad you get to live near family that you like.

So what was the sad part about leaving Washington?

Having to look for a job. I wish I could be a career student... hypothetically a career student who gets paid to be a student. You don't know of anyone offering that job, do you? I would accept the position of being a starting QB that you couldn't touch or intercept, too. If you'd pay me a few million, I'd be willing to be the 1%. Sure, people would indiscriminately be jealo... hate me, but comes with the territory. Not something a few million couldn't fix.

So did you think my observation at the game of all the missed shots during warmups was like yours for the game you went to?

Ironically, the Jazz shot well in the game I went to. Screw warmups, haha.

Here's the Infinite Dollar Question ($$$$):

Michael Phelps comes up to you and says "MHSL82, you're the greatest. I need your help in defending a dog bite case.

I will pay you whatever you ask for. Millions, tens of millions, it doesn't matter.

But, first I need you to gain my trust before I know you're the right man.

Take a bong hit with me, and let me photograph us."

What do you do?

Utah has a hockey team named the Grizzlies (which is probably why you suggested this), but Utah could also just trade with New Orleans because Utah is the Beehive State.

this is a highly reasonable idea here sir

Good to see some folks on this here Utah Jazz board

welcome sirs

I'd have to think about representing him if I knew that he sent dogs on people (you said tens of millions), but this? I'd take the millions if I could get it and take whatever the Bar said. They could take my license, but not my money (since the offense was not stealing money or something that unethical with the client). I'd donate some money to some charity to make myself feel better, in the case that his dog bit someone. (I'd advise him to not do it anymore, too.)

Good post.

And maybe the dog bit the person in self defense. Maybe the person it bit was being violent or abusive, and provoked the dog. (Does that context make a difference)? What if the person it bit was being abusive, such as taking a lighter and playing with it near the dog, or physically choking the dog, etc.

Also, I would get an audio recording of Phelps saying "MHSL82, you're the greatest." And I would upload it to a secure server, thus preserving it.

What if the guy bit the dog first? What if the dog and the guy were biting each other and now that the guy realizes it's Phelps' dog, he says it wasn't consentual biting? ;)

LOL! I am picturing a guy on all fours (like a dog), biting the dog.

Both the dog and the person are alternately biting each other. And the whole time, the person is on his hands and knees and only lunges his mouth forward to bite.

Hey MHSL82. It helps that we have a game played out west, unlike the past few weeks.

So does that mean you checked the game threads, over the past few weeks, during game time? If so, YOU could have posted too.

Nope, I typically am out at that time, often at my parents for them to see my daughter. We eat there often. I'm watching the game now, but I am watching it delayed a bit. Don't worry about spoiling it for me... unless we win or lose by 1 or 2. In that case, hold off on commenting. :)

Are you at your parents now?

What are you eating?

I ate some bacon fried rice and eggs. But as a robot, you should already have known that.

I've never seen bacon fried rice. Interesting.

Do you know where the bacon came from? Was it a common brand like Hormel or Farmer Johns, or was it a special deli brand? Or a harder-to-find brand?

Back in 2010, I was a member of "The Grateful Palate", a "bacon club".

They sent me 13 packs of bacon, and I liked 12 of them. They were brands of bacon that I'd never seen elsewhere, and I'd definitely order at least 6 of them through the individual manufacturer's website. They definitely tasted better than most bacon I'd had, such as Denny's bacon. (Which I like, but ones from The Grateful Palate were just better).

Does your daughter respond to your parents? Does she cry, seem neutral, or happy when she sees them?

Oh boy, you want bacon specifics? I don't know. :noidea: Haha. Good bacon? :P They should have a brand called " or "Great" so that for example it would be Good Bacon or Great Bacon because then when anyone says it, they have to compliment it. I took an intellectual property course and I seem to remember that you can't trademark descriptive words like that - or maybe you can but cannot sue anyone on it so it's pointless. I got a good grade in the class, but not an A - and you can see based upon my blurriness of the rule.

By-the-way, you should try bacon fried rice. My wife's, not my mom's - she uses too little bacon and she cuts them too small - it's like eating rice alone with oil. But the odd thing is, she makes everything else really well. She makes Indian food well, Chinese food well, etc. But bacon fried rice? Eh, it's ok.

Does your daughter respond to your parents? Does she cry, seem neutral, or happy when she sees them?

She's great with everybody, better with family. She's a happy girl. Probably much smarter and social than I was when I was her age. Definitely much prettier, but I don't want to be "pretty."
