Am I mistaken or did the #Mariners just win the division for the Astros AND get them a bye in the first round AND give them a much better chance to get to & win the World Series I didn’t think it was possible to become more disappointed in this team.

Unless .they..the off-season..goes.

went 18-10 from Sept 1 through the end of the season and gave up the fewest runs in the AL over that span.

Cal last night:

“We’ve got to become a better team. Straight up,” Raleigh told a group of reporters gathered in front of his locker after Saturday’s loss. “We’ve been right at this 90-game [win] mark for a few years now. We’ve just got to become better. Something’s got to change.

“I don’t think by any means we’re a bad team this year, but it’s not where we want to be. We want to be getting to the World Series; we want to be making the playoffs every single year. In order to do that, some things have to change, and it starts with the players here in the clubhouse.”

That was him talking to the front office and owners at least in part. Makes it clear to me that Cal and probably a bunch of other guys have the same priority as fans, which is being a perennial postseason contender. Time to see if the powers that be have that goal as well.

Even the most pro Dipoto apologist can’t defend the record. You can say all of the wonderful things that Jerry and Scott have done but in no other line of work are you allowed to fail 8/9 times and keep your job.
