i agree , a winning season and a playoff win isnt enough and it shouldnt be . we have had only 1 back to back winning season here in the snyder era and RR has 0 winning season's here . folklore playoff appearance (1) dont mean anything and we got zero bounce by making the playoffs at 7-9 and dean , cali and others so vehemently said it would

we need a conference championship appearance to justify RR staying

and lets be real if i am a new owner i want to pick my guys and do things my way

so a season that produced a playoff win and answers the QB question assuming its SH, he still gets fired. First of all, we lost the playoff game against the Bucs not win it. So, this is totally different b/c we are actually winning a playoff game. I don't understand why Harris would clean house if this happened this year. We are projected at 6.5 wins this year. So, a playoff win would be a massive overachievement, but you guys still think RR gets fired.

It's laughable at this point in all honesty. There is no objective thinking at all.

Why would Harris and magic give the keys to their brand new 6 billion dollar organization to someone with the credentials of Rivera? Under deans scenerio, Rivera would have had 1 successful season out of 4 in DC, and 4 successful seasons out of 13 total in his career. That doesn't include off the field nonsense that had plagued the team, some of which Rivera had a hand in.

If Rivera gets 9 wins in 2023 and if he gets 1 playoff win in 2023, why would that erase the totality of his coaching and gm career? Would Harris and magic do that? I can't name a new owner who bought a struggling and underperforming team and decided to not change a thing?

Rivera is not the football God Dean wants him to be. Rivera has not won a playoff game since 2015 and is 3-5 in his lifetime. Dean is being a social media advocate for Rivera and the commanders again. I like Rivera but he is not the answer to rebuilding this franchise. Dean does not see the whole picture, he never has.

One yr with a winning record isn’t a winning team Dean . Winning teams are ones that win back to back to back

IMO there is a very slim chance that RR is here after this year. There is a good chance that EB is not here unless he is named the new HC. More likely is EB wants a good year on offense and not under Reid for his future.

Most new owners bring in their own people.

New owners bring new philosophies. A lot of the debates we have had are irrelevant now because the new owners will want different things

look at what Harris did with the sixers and devils and what he currently does .

this guy fired Doc Rivers because “ just getting a series win “ wasn’t good enough

this owner looks like a guy who wants to compete for titles and win consistently

RR , and his hand picked guys , wright , Mayhew and Hurney don’t look to be the future

none have built sustained winners and there in lies the issue

I would not expect Harris to immediately turn the team around. With both the Sixers and Devils it took a few years to become playoff level teams. He needs to find a good GM that might not happen on the first swing. I believe he will defer to his GM.

For the beginning I happy we are not getting a dirt ball owner and I am happy we won't get stuck doing the same stupid shit for 24 years.

Not to change the subject but are you seeing what the Wizards are doing? I am not saying it's going to work but at least Leonosis is not doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I actually like what they are doing and am excited for the next season. Winger and Dawkins will build it the right way I feel.

I would tell you I am not a big NBA fan while I am sitting here watching the game tonight. LOL

I have been listening to interviews on the radio from Winger and Dawkins. The interviews are encouraging. I haven't been a Wizard fan since they changed names. God bless Abe he brought NBA basketball and NHL hockey to Washington. Cap Centre was only 5 miles from where I grew up. You have to have some luck to build an NBA team. I do think the game is changing again, maybe it isn't the big 3 anymore. One thing I hate is player engineering teams. LeBron is famous for that.

Side note: I would encourage you or anyone else read the Harris era for both the 76ers and Devils. He has owned the 6ers since 2011 and the Devils since 2012. It was not instant success and he didn't always fire the current HC. I'd love to hear what you all think.

No, but if we win this year why break up the band? Let RR finish his contract and if they don't build on the winning season in 2024 then bring in new people. We have a new QB and offense if they do well why blow it up? Same on the defensive side of the ball, if its a top 10 defense why blow it up?

6.5 wins is based entirely on SH. We would be projected to win 12 games with Aaron Rodgers. We have a strong roster.

i also believe we have a strong roster. So what you are saying is if we get good QB play we will be contenders this year?

Here we go with the trap like questions. A poster says something and then gets gaslit and interrogated because dean disagrees with it. Then the leading questions start. Dean wants the world the believe we are an elite team so phrases the question in a way that is manipulative.

Contend for what? A super bowl?

We literally could start jamis winston and dean would try to convince us all that we are close and that rivera is the answer. Enough already....

Regarding the wizards, yes, they are saying all the right things. I agree that the engineered teams are annoying and is not good for the game. Just my opinion.
I have been frustrated by leonosis tolerating ernie grunfeld and then his understudy, Tommy Shephard. Leonosis made the mistake of promoting Shephard instead of looking outside then organization. Shephard was ernies right hand man and it made no sense to simply turn it over to someone who has the same approach and philosophy. The results were predictable. I still don't like that leonosis is demanding that unseld Jr stick around for year 3. They team has not improved at all. Just my opinion.

I took a peak at the team records under the Harris tenure with the 76ers and devils. I was surprised that the 76ers had 6 straight losing seasons until it was turned around. I am not sure why that happened. I will say that Harris doesn't have that same latitude with the commanders. Magic will help in that regard. Looks like the devils have been up and down. Good news is that both teams are now strong and competitive.
