I'm not really that familiar with Nipsey, but everything I've read and seen about him points to him being a guy who didn't glamorize his gang lifestyle. What he did was he mentioned and didn't shy away from it to show others who got caught up in that lifestyle that there is a way out.
He not only promoted social justice, but he was about teaching the youth to invest in real estate and businesses. To become entrepreneurs and their own independent entities.
