One team I don't understand the lack of votes for is UNC.

4-1.... only loss is to a 5-0 team. They beaten some teams with solid recods, and they beat ECU, at ECU, worse than VT or South Carolina could.

UNC really hasn't beaten anyone at all, beating a team worse than someone else did really isn't much, especially when the other two teams lack any sort of offense.

UNC also struggled to Rutgers, RUTGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not really an impressive win over Virginia either, they only won that by 11, same Virginia team that went in overtime against Idaho.

North Carolina got an incredibly easy schedule, they now play Louisville who has lost to FIU and Marshall already, then Miami of Florida who lost to a horrible Terps team, before finally playing their 2nd good team of the year, that being Clemson.

Yea, the reason I chose the Georgia/Nebraska comparison is because it shows how much people let losses sway their opinion of a team.

If South Carolina would have snapped the ball over Garcia's head and it rolled into the endzone, recovered by a Georgia player for a TD that happened to be the deciding points for Georgia to win..........suddenly everyone here ranks Georgia, simply because they have 1 loss instead of 2.

But they didn't. I rank based on what actually happens, who actually performs, who actually wins those games.

And sometimes the color of the uniforms.

And baby blue is NOT a football color.

Rankings are completely subjective; not sure why it really matters anyway. After Weeks 14-15 and the bowls, will anyone care who had UGA or Nebraska ranked after week 5?

But what if your opinion falters because of a few drinks or because the voting deadline came up too fast to handle? Is it really your best opinion then? ;)

I actually started my voting process last night 1 hour before I ended up submitting it. I just happened to submit it at the last second :washing:

I rank this comment at #25 in this thread. It has some strength, but is a bit one-dimensional.

After further review, your ballot was 20 minutes after the deadline. The refs handed you that vote!

I'm actually pretty impressed with UNC, the Rutgers game included.

They lost their head coach over the summer, and have a new starting QB. They dominated Rutgers statistically, but turned the ball over 5 times (while Rutgers turned it over 0 times) and they still managed to win. And, since then, they have shown a LOT of improvement in taking care of the ball. And, while Rutgers is not a good team... they're good enough to have only 1 loss right now.

Maybe they won't end up ranked, but so far I definitely think they are a top 25 team, and I see them continuing to improve as the season goes on. I wouldn't want to play them later in the season.

Who cares about stupid UGA? Good chance that Tennessee puts them out of this poll next week anyways.

This.

If Tennessee beats them, Georgia will not re-enter my poll again for the rest of the season.........unless they somehow win out.

Yeah, it was all Georgia fucking up and not USC's defense at all. That's why Melvin Ingram was Walter Camp national defensive player of the week against Georgia.
And SEC defensive player of the week against Vanderbilt.
And SEC defensive player of the week against Auburn.

They all just hand him the ball.
