ESPN's Mark Jones banned from calling Washington games

ESPN has shit on us for a long time, but this seems a bit sensitive on Washington's perspective. Could just be them drawing a line.

My personal opinion is that Mark Jones was making a poor attempt to be funny.

You also have to keep in mind that UW is going to be susceptible to these types of remarks until we step up on that stage. Penn State, Alabama, and now Auburn have all been losses for us.

If we want this shit to stop, we need to start winning these games.

They did a hit piece on Michigan State trying to tie Izzo and Dantonio to Nassar and distorting the facts to make it look like the coaches covered up sexual assaults but teasing Washington about having cupcakes on their schedule and this guy can’t call Washington games. I was hoping NBC would make a bid for the B1G rights a couple years ago. NBC could have had a nice slate with a B1G game and then Notre Dame home games. Also, could have had at least one game a week when Notre Dame would have played a road game. Still would like to see NBC come calling when the time is right.

Problem is they only host a max of 2 games per week. Mostly big SEC games and Navy/Air Force/Army games. CBS-SN hosts MWC games. So it would be really hard to get a gameday show going when you'll only be covering 4-5 games a day, where ESPN covers 4-5 games for every major timeslot (11-2) (2:30-5:30) (6-10) and then an extra late night kickoff game.
