Lmao

Alex Cobb has struck out Aaron Hicks 3 times

That's the worst everyday player I've ever seen in that uniform

Starting to think they maybe acquired Lynn to eventually replace Gray in the rotation

Orioles sucked and beat the Yankees routinely

Then they traded all their player, Got much much worse (is it possible), and still can beat the Yankees

former Cardinals starter Lance Lynn is a .500 pitcher at best. He has been overrated for the last 4 seasons.

Have you seen Sonny Gray pitch? He has an ERA is approaching 6 and basically all of his solid starts (before the game today) came against the O's.

It wouldn't hurt to give Lynn 2 or 3 starts and send Gray to the pen or DL. Lynn ERA which isn't good is nearly a full run less than Sonny.

Also if you look at Lynn last few starts, there is no reason why he should not replace Gray in the rotation.

Since the start of May, he allowed more than 4 runs ONCE. Pitched into the 6th inning 8X over that time.

Gray over that same period allowed 5 or more runs 5X and failed to get to the 4th inning 4X.

But yeah the yanks should keep throwing Gray out there every 5th day LMAO

Diner Question: Should Dan Duquette continue as Orioles' top baseball man? - BaltimoreBaseball.com

I'd say Duquette overall has been an above average GM, but his moves over the last few years are questionable at best and he's pretty much put the Orioles in this position. They have a weak farm system and little young talent to work with at the major league level, not to mention the Yanks/Sox should be very good for the next few years (though the former is in a great position to compete for the better part of the next decade) and the Jays/Rays have strong farm systems that should keep them afloat. They need to start over again IMO.

Agreed. I think next year 4 of the 5 AL East teams will be in the top half of farm systems, maybe even all top 10.

On the outside looking in will be the O's. Again.

Idk about the Sox though. I think it'll take 2020 for the Sox farm system to get there and there's not a lot of positional talent right now especially at the upper levels. The only guys I see in Portland/Pawtucket that could be contributors are Ockimey (while I like his bat, I think he's more of a solid contributor than a potential star unless he really cuts down on the K's) and Chavis (who was suspended and hasn't really shown he can hit outside of last year). I don't think anyone views Sam Travis as a potential MLB 1B at this point. Dalbec's been pretty awesome (.256/.372/.573 with 26 home runs and 27 doubles on 88 hits) but contact is still a question mark. Garrett Benge has really impressed so far in Greenville though it's only 105 PA (.325/.486/.450 with 25 walks) and it would be nice to see more power from him.

The pitching depth is pretty solid, but even the top guys have had issues (Mata's command, Houck's command issues though he seems to have ironed them out, Groome's injury, Scherff has gotten lit up in Greenville so far). Shawaryn's had a good year, but I'm a bit disappointed by how much his strikeouts fell off.

I haven't paid attention to the Sox this summer, but how was their international haul? That seems to be the Yankees' method of overcoming lower draft picks over the last decade or so, and their trading of players last month purely to expand their spending pool indicates they're pleased with how that's going.
