yah that raised my eyebrow as well. He is not a top 20 player yet. Maybe he will be but def. not top 20 yet. Maybe not even top 30- probably not even top 30.Did you just claim that Tatum is a top 10 player in the NBA?
The homer is strong with this one.

trade value wise he is prob a top 20 "asset" in the league-- maybe a top 10 asset--- but if I wanted to win a game tomorrow and had to put together a team he is not even on the radar. He's certainly a very promising player. But to argue that he's a top 30 player when he is probably the 3rd or 4th best player on his own team is a pretty bold claim, much less a top 10 player.

better use of the thread.
If you are the Celtics and at some point facing salary issues having so many talented players- who are the guys that you keep long term out of:
1. Kyrie
2. Hayward
3. Tatum
4. Brown
5. Smart
6. Horford
7. Rozier
You definitely cannot keep them all. I would imagine that Tatum and Brown will get near-max level offers as RFA's if things keep going how they are. Horford is the teams only solidly above average big man. Brown and Tatum are both great wings. You probably cannot keep both Kyrie and Rozier.
Hayward and Smart are under contract, so they're not going anywhere. Horford is getting up there, so there's nothing long term with him. Kyrie is likely gone next summer. So, you're choosing between Tatum (easy choice), Brown and Rozier. I don't see anything special about Rozier personally (he's a good backup, but I wouldn't overpay to keep him), and if he gets big offers, I wouldn't match (even if Kyrie leaves). Brown is going to get a max offer, which will be interesting.
If you assume kyrie is gone, they can keep all 3.
They can keep them all whether Kyrie stays or not; it's just a matter of how much you want to spend over the cap to keep them if they may not even be starters. They are staggered (one big decision per year) with potentially Kyrie, then Horford, then Hayward potentially coming off the books each of those years.
Celts owner doesn't have unlimited funds.
I don't think they keep Al.
I still think they should deal Kyrie, but probably won't.
