They seemed to play better without Cousins

Yeah, that was kind of weird because they both put up good numbers which one would think would make them better.

and Rondo is pretty damn old and kind of crazy.

He's 32, so not THAT old...but he is kind of crazy. lol

So who is a better SG?

Butler, George and Harden. In the West forsure. Really it’s all I even thought about.

Chris Paul starts at PG. Harden is a SG. If you want to argue then it changes the original post on Curry being the best PG(still not sure he is)

Because LeBron and Harden now count as PGs.

If you believe David Griffin, LA and others WERE absolutely interested. They were just
playing the negotiating game and making him wait. The knew the market on him wasn't great and were letting him realize that so they could come in with offers of 10-15. Which in retrospect was a mistake but I don't think anyone saw him making the move so quickly. He didn't give anyone a chance to beat the deal.

IMO, this move was more about ego than about winning.

By the middle of Monday, Cousins’ people were calling teams and pitching deals: one-year, $15 million in one place, per sources, other numbers in other places. Clearly, there was not much interest. It might be that the richest deal easily and quickly available to him was that full midlevel exception contract starting at around $8.6 million

A number of teams had a No Cousins policy before he tore his Achilles. That number grew as teams feared committing to what might be a less explosive version of him. Remember: Any contract inked as part of a sign-and-trade must encompass at least three seasons. That might have been too long for teams that would have to send out some meaningful asset for him

I dunno

I think they did a great job getting Randle- hes a good fit for them and on a cheap deal. I actually think they did a pretty good job.

Mirotic and Randle are a good pair of big men to play with Davis. Holliday is a very solid Pg

they need a good 3 and D wing though....if they could get a Tyreke Evans or something like that I would feel pretty good about the Pels. They are one good wing player away from being a damn good team if you ask me.

Not true. The trio brow cousins and holiday was one of the best in the NBA last year.

Their problem is the wings are abysmal there

I guess that's my point, with all the blending of positions, Klay is the best pure no doubt SG. He's not a hybrid. Curry is not a pure PG, you are correct. Butler and PG are wings.

LA seems to be playing for next season, everyone got 1 year deals. So unless an amazing trade opportunity comes along they'll be back in a great position next year with an unbelievable FA class.

If anything, the Cousins signing actually probably validates that plan.
True.

That's likely the reason Cousins and the Lakers passed on eachother.

If he has a good year, no reason he couldn't sign in LA next Summer if the Lakers don't get Kawhi.

Butler and George definitely play like wings. But SG is still the position most rosters would be constructed around them playing.

Plus playing with that asshole Westbrook and his ball dominance has basically relegated George to a spot up shooter

But yeah, if you’re talking guys that are truly just SGs then it’s probably gonna be Klay.

Goddamn phone put the copy and paste over my comment on the last post...lol

Agree about the ego part.

But, if he couldn't get 1/15, I understand why he'd be a little bent.

Paul George is 6'9.

He's a Sf/wing.

Butler is a sg....imo

But, semantics are for the petty...lol

why not kick the tires on him for a 1 year deal though? Likely he is back for the playoffs and would be a huge help. At the most you get a legit #2 for LeBron for the playoffs. At the least you let a guy get comfortable there, see how he fits in, monitor his injury to see how serious it is etc.

I think we both are correct.

You are talking about the extra year.

I think at the time, you could only have one guy on the 5 year max.

I'm talking about the total money.

He would have stayed on the 4 year if they gave him 5 mil more.

The Thunder offered Harden $55.5 million over four years -- $4.5 million less than the max deal Harden coveted and will get from the Rockets, sources told ESPN The Magazine.Thunder ship star sixth man Harden to Rockets

I agree. But I'm pretty sure the 5 mill was per season too.

After getting over the initial shock of it all, the move is extremely beneficial for Cousins in the long run.

1) Teams were obviously scared off by his injury. No player has come back to be the exact same after this type of injury. He'll have all the time he needs to recover without any push to return during the season with the Warriors.

2) Teams are also scared of his demeanor and approach to the game. Playing for an organization like the Warriors could do wonders to help repair that. If the organization can vouch for him or if teams can visibly see a change, that also boosts his future earnings.

It's actually a really great move. It might not have had to have been the Warriors he went to. Boston was another team they said he was considering. They would have given him the exact same opportunity the Warriors have set up for him. Spurs would have been another destination for him in the past, but with their recent drama with Kawhi I could understand if he wanted to avoid it. After that there aren't many stable environments that would allow him all the time he needs to recover and a culture to help him rebuild his value.

Or using fake twitter accounts to defend himself.

I told you, Kevin has moved on. He found someone who could let him become the man he was meant to be, and who put a ring on it. You have Russ, and he's a great guy. I know Kevin will always be The One but sometimes life works out a different way. Be happy, girl.

Kevin married the rich older woman with a droopy eye because he was afraid he would never get a title. Now he screws the smoking hot yoga instructor- and has a great time with a ton of money--- but he wont ever have that true love and respect of a soulmate. lol.

You know im not as embarrassed to be a Kings fan anymore, because compared to the Warriors, everyone is the Kings.
You are right... Just a bunch of mediocre teams.

He married the yoga instructor bud. And he's banging another one on the side. But sure, keep crying.
