Entirely agree with that. I also believe that just becoming 'bowl eligible' shouldn't automatically put you in one. It should still be a privilege. Bowl appearances are handed out like participation trophies anymore. Play 3 scrubs, find a way to win 3 out of your remaining 9, and take your nearly automatic reward. Kind of a joke anymore to be honest.

Still, that's a different question from if everyone else is doing it should you self impose a ban. If some Pac12 team was offered and wanted to take it why should the league prevent it?

Too many bowl games anyway. Trim the list of bowl games down a bit and you get rid of this issue. You can still have a bunch of secondary bowl games that have decent opponents playing in them.

Heck, personally, I don't think even a 6-6 team should be in a bowl. I'm just against these types of "participation trophy" type bowl games. Rarely are they worth watching.

Well the first point, 2/3 of the conference plays FCS schools every year so it is fake bravado.

im pretty sure its only the LA schools that havent and i have never really heard anyone try to make it a bragging point other than them

Only 11 Big10 schools have a combined 27 games scheduled against
1-AA's between 2018 thru 2027.

We sit back and watch the other major conferences take any advantage they can get, while the pac 12 does shit like this whenever they get the chance, and wonder why the only bowl win was a game they might not even be sending teams to anymore with this new rule.

Just the principle of the thing. Regardless of frequency it’s a rule that does no good for the conference. An example of bigger issues.

Our local high school football teams put up better entertainment value than some of those crap bowls I've seen over the years.
