As much as I detest you, I agree with that post.Who gives a shit. There’s a bunch of irrelevant bowls, enough that they need spots filled, that’s not gonna change. If you think there are too many, fine, but that doesn’t change anything about this. The point is, the way things are right now, there is no reasonable defense for a decision like this.
"We don't schedule FCS Schools!"
"We don't send 5-win teams to bowls!"
"We play 9 conference games cause they's gooderer!"
Oregon has never gone to a bowl as a 5-7 team so...
what the hell does that have to do with anything going on in this thread?
Let me know the next time someone is forced to watch a game they don't want to watch.

The number of bowls won't ever decrease dramatically. As long as there are local chambers of commerce looking to draw in tourists during the holiday season, there will be Humanitarian Bowls etc.
And from the schools' viewpoints, more is better. Most teams will never sniff the playoffs or one of the first tier games...it's nice to have the extra practices and a little trip somewhere. These are still 19-21 year olds for the most part.
It's my thread. I can expand the topic if I desire. It's in the Board
Rule Book.
And it is the only place where the NCAA allows gifts to the players.
$500 dollars of free merchandise. I've known and heard of plenty
of players that do their Christmas Shopping off of some of those
gifts. I forgot the bowl, but every player gets a 500 dollar gift
card to Best Buy. They can do plenty of Christmas shopping
there for their siblings.
