Yep, awfully steep price for a one year rental. I can't see the Rams resigning him after this year. He'll command too much and the Rams are going to have a lot of big bills come due.

He wasn't a bad player. He just didn't live up to the expectations.

Cooks is exactly what the Rams need to beat the Niners' defense. Speedy receivers can make Sherman look silly (see TY Hilton).

What I don't get is that he's being traded without a new contract. Cooks is an URFA next offseason. I know they're trying to win a SB, but a first-round pick for 1 year of a contract? That seems insane without an extension.

And if they do extend him, how can they afford Goff, Donald & Gurley?

This seems like a lose-lose.

Pats should be in 'win now' mode and the WR/TE class coming out is awful. Rams shouldn't overvalue Cooks.

Bellichick probably has some guy he'll get from the Browns practice squad that will make the pro bowl next year but the Rams are reaching and I think this is a rare wtf move for them.
