I generally don't like to trade picks for future picks, but I think there is a good chance that the Saints suck this year and this becomes a high draft choice for 2023, when Philly may be in the hunt for another QB if Jalen Hurts doesn't take a step forward this season.

Eagles get:

A 2022 first-round pick (No. 18 overall), New Orleans’ 2023 first-round pick, New Orleans’ 2024 second-round pick, a 2022 third-round pick (No. 101 overall) and a 2022 seventh-round pick (No. 237 overall).

Saints get:

Two 2022 first-round picks (Nos. 16 and 19 overall) and a 2022 sixth-round pick (No. 194)

Who won the trade? Vote.

The trade almost certainly means the Saints are trying to move up for a QB, btw. Kenny Pickett as the hoped-for "next Drew Brees"?

They must want someone bad because the numbers don't add up for them, in terms of traditional trade value.

IMO this was a great deal for Philly. They still have picks in this year's draft, but they bolster their draft capital for next year. There is a good chance that the Saints won't be very good and this pick is in the top 10. The Eagles are still in position to improve this year, but also in position to move around in the draft next year if they need a new QB.

What a God awful trade for the Saints. They move back one spot in the first, and trade a third and future first and second for the 16?

The only way to explain it from the Saints perspective is that they really like someone in this draft.

The only loss for the Eagles is they will only get 2 future top 5 in the league at their positions instead of 3. RtK must be distraught.

"This is Howie do it!"

I stole that from a PFT commenter. If only he knew how to use the picks he would be the GOAT. Alas he will draft another Jalen Reagor.

I don't get why the Saints made that trade. Who are they after? The top 3 Wr's should be gone. Pickett and Wills should be gone.

What in the wide world of fuck are the Saints doing?

WHO DAT!?

Yah... take your stupid ass irrelevant slogan and shove that up your ass for the next 10+ years because that's what you're getting.

F GRADE SAINTS, A+ Grade Eagles. Done and done. Easiest grade I've ever given out on this forum.

Saints over/under for the season is currently 8.5 in Vegas.

These are some of their opponents though:

Though you normally need to wait and see how things turn out before really evaluating.

What we do know.

Eagles clearly win this trade on paper. Unless the Saints find the next GOAT (at whatever position they select? with this years pick.

The Eagles will tank and try and get one of the top two
/three QBs (Stroud, Young /Richardson) coming out next year.

Howie will fuck up the draft which is a given.

Eagles QB will be a one and done paper champ.

Yep all is normal. Move on nothing to see.

Well we could hang around for the NO train wreck. What are they doing?

time will tell...it's said this draft is loaded with quality football players. I'm glad philly has one less top 20 player to add from this draft

Sure seems this is less about Saints wanting a QB from this draft and more the eagles wanting to replace Hurts next draft when the prospects seem much better. I actually think the saints have a plan and it looks logical to me

No guarantee that the Eagles can get the QB they want next year.

SEA, MIA, DET, and HOU all have two first round picks next year.
All might need QBs.

Yeah but all the ammo they are accumulating is sure going to help. They add a quality playmaker at WR and they will look like an enticing destination to a vet QB too. And the Eagles would then have both the ammo and the team foundation to make them appealing should there be another Watson/Wilson trade situation next offseason. (Kyler doesnt seem happy.)
