I guess we will draft Payne or Vita now .. DT Logan still on radar
Just draft Payne or Vea. We shouldn't over think this.
Agree, they shouldnt over think this. But I have also been saying for a while, we need to add a FA D-line starter AND draft Payne or Vea. Really fixing the Defense starts with fixing the front seven finally.
Richardson is going to command over 10m annually. I don't think the Skins have the room to sign him. Logan could still be in play on a cheap deal. I agree it should be Payne or Vea at #13. Like I said before we only need a NT either the draft pick or Logan to improve this line.
1)#13 pick 2)Allen 3) Mcgee 4)Ionman 5)Mclain 6)Lainer 7)Camp guy or vet. All 7 dlineman will not dress for game day. If Logan is brought on, I don't see Lanier dressing for games.
We will have to see what happens will Logan.

McClain and McGhee should be nothing more than rotational guys. We need some one capable of playing NOSE who can also play DT when we are in a sub package, which is about 65% of the time.
Smart money would dress seven every game, because until such time as we know that
1. We can stop the run and pressure the passer
2. Our offense has some semblance of ball control
The more guys we can rotate in the better.
Allen, Logan, Payne
Ion, McGee, Lanier
I'd carry 6... maybe carry 7 if it makes more sense to retain Mcclain.
Again.. we run a 4 man line 60-65% of the time. Carrying only six is risky at best, asking for guys to tire out as we have seen all too often at worst.

I think we both know that when they run a 4 man line Kerrigan, PS, Galette, Murphy etc are at end
Yep,
But I also think that having the horses to flex these guy out to the end and STILL rotate the rest of the line would be a better solution than skimping at the position which we have done for quite a while.
Plus Murphy is gone, Gallette has not resigned yet. And I still think we need two more dominant players on the line rotation currently.
The Eagles have signed Haloti Ngata. Their DL is gonna be one to contend with.
