Then we disagree. I'm a huge fan of the draft. But it isn't a game. The player being drafted most times isn't even sure of the team that will draft him. So he has no idea of the future teammates that he will be "letting down" by not attending. Baker has the potential to be another Rogers. I have zero issue with him not wanting that kind of attention.

He's also letting down America, and Jesus (the guy who does his tattoos)

It's an opportunity most people would kill for. I probably had the talent to be drafted but we were poor so I rarely got to play. We had one pair of cleats that I shared with my 3 brothers-if two of us had a game the same day we would play rock paper scissors and the winner got to play. It wasn't all bad though--the loser got to eat that night.....

Because he's not going to the draft?

Not at all...in fact no players should go. If no players were there, they could get the entire draft completed in 2 days. Player's name is called, they can shoe a 3 min highlight clip for the 1st rounders and maybe do webcam setup for the guys that want it in the 2nd round.

In the name of advertising revenue and sponsorships (i.e more freakin money for the NFL) the draft imo has become a sideshow. It's a great time in the lives of these guy people, but I don't need to see them come up on stage and hug the commish they will probably loathe in a few months time.

Don't blame Baker, stay at home and enjoy the moment with the people who matter the most to you.
