You can only compare the two if supporting casts are equal.

You can only compare the two if the defenses are the same.

You can only compare the two if their skill sets are the same.

Lamar Jackson is a great athlete. He excels playing against lesser athletes. When the defenses are more athletic, he slows down. All defenses in the NFL are athletic.

Breaking: Player plays worse against better

Fact is...knocking Jackson for competition is weird if youre gonna prop up Allen or excuse his competition.

Again...missing the point.

Allen is not an athlete. He needs players around him to excel at any level. The players around Allen are inferior to the players from the other team. Last season was a better indicator.

Jackson is a superior athlete to everybody he plays. This makes him look good against teams without a team of athletes. Look deeper than undisciplined lesser athletes.

Lol I realy just be missing your point cuz all I'm getting here is... Jackson's a better athlete who can do more on his own than Allen? How is that a bad thing?

Its not a bad thing... if the Redskins played in the NCAA. IF you want an exciting QB that you are constantly worried will get broken in the NFL... he is #1 on your board. If 2012 was the greatest Redskins season you can remember, he is your guy hands down.

Now Im not saying I would draft Allen as my first choice... but Jackson would be my dead last choice for this team.

The ole "good things are really actually bad things" argument. Interesting.

He can do more on his own but can he make the players around him better. That is why it is a bad thing.

In the NFL, his athleticism will be matched on an individual basis by eleven defenders.

That's a valid question. But it's also a valid question for every other QB in the class. I don't see any reason to think Jackson can't make his teammates better while the rest of these QBs can.

As far as his athleticism sure the nfl is on a whole other level but Jackson will still be one of the most athletic players in the nfl. His athleticism will hold up just fine.

It is a valid question for all QBs. I think Rosen can make people better but is a cancer. I think Darnold is a joke. I wonder if Baker Mayfield can be like Favre but I doubt it. I think Jackson reminds me of Vick and that isn’t good.

Jackson will be one of the most athletic players but he isn’t more athletic than the eleven disciplined great athletes on the other team. That is the problem. He will think he is because he has always been.

jackson , so far is a running back playing qb . this guy got picked 4x vs an sec defense with maybe a sprinkling of pro's in the game .

the same issues he had coming into the season are the same ones he is leaving with . if chip kelley were our coach it might work , but then kaep couldnt get it done in that offense at the pro level

Why is Rosen a cancer?

I'm not a big darnold fan just because I don't trust him to protect the ball but I'll admit I haven' watched enough of him yet.

Baker...is interesting. I want to like him. Not sure I will once I really dig in though.

Jackson reminds me of Vick too but I don' think thats a bad thing. He reminds me of Vick because he's a freak athlete (laterally as well as in speed - just like vick) with that same kind of flick of the wrist arm strength Vick had. Idk what Vick was really like in college but he had the tools to be a great QB. If Jackson is dedicated to being a passer (which it seems like he is) then there' a lot to like about a Vick comp.

Ehhh. There's a good chance he is plenty athletic. Vick made NFL athletes look flat out stupid on a routine basis. Course he didn't always and he had his flaws but Vick isn't Jackson' ceiling so I'm not sure that matters all that much.

Thats laughably bad.

If hes a RB playing QB at least hes an agile one who can run 4.3. Josh Allen's a RB with 4.7 speed playing QB. Yikes.

For real though he progresses through multiple reads, runs a pretty advanced offense, changes calls at the line, steps up in the pocket, keeps his eyes downfield and resets to make throws after escaping trouble, and throws guys open. To say he's a RB playing QB is hysterically bad.

i have mentioned quite a few things he doesnt do at a pro level that you need to do as a pro qb . reading defenses in the passing game , manipulating dbs , poor accuracy poor mechanics , poor pocket play , stairs down wrs ,throws into coverage

you keep making this into josh allen and 4.7 speed like i want allen . i dont want any of them because drafting them turns us into a 5 win team and another rebuild

QB possible picks

Josh Rosen
Sam Darnold
Josh Allen
Lamar Jackson
Baker Mayfield

1. Browns – QB
2. Giants – Eli Manning
3. Colts - Luck
4. Browns – RB/CB
5. Bears – Trubisky
6. Bucs – Crab Legs
7. Jets – QB
8. Broncos – QB
9. 49ers - Garoppolo
10. Dolphins – Tannehill
11. Raiders – Carr
12. Redskins – Cousins

My predictions is Browns & Giants take a QB #1&#2, Broncos sign Cousins, and the mystery is what do the Jets do? If Jets don't take a QB we could be left with 3rd best QB which actually means the #2 QB since we know the Browns will fuck it up. I think at #12 we will be deciding on Allen, Jackson, Mayfield or go BPA. With no Cousins can we afford not to take a QB in the first round would be the question?

With or without Eli, the Giants have to at least consider a QB unless they are sold on Webb. The Broncos taking Cousins would not shock me, the cost will be prohibitive though.

In the end, I think Bruce Allen will push the narrative so that he can draft a QB that he likes, and he wont make the mistake of leaving his coach to finish up the draft as he did in 2012. There will be no backup plan behind the chosen one this time.

Vick sucked.

Have any quotes of people saying that?

I don't think Vick sucked but he wasn't great. Super inconsistent at least. Don't think it really matters though. Vick being his comp doesn't mean he's destined for the same career as Vick.

But he does read defenses and manipulate dbs...

He also has pretty solid pocket play imo. certainly not a 1 read and run kinda guy.

Also doesn't stare down receivers or throw into coverage very often.

I only keep bringing Allen up because you're calling Jackson a RB playing QB. If you think that then you must also think Allen is a RB playing QB since he does all those things you hate about Jackson as often as Jackson does.

again i have said 900000000000000000000000000000000x i dont want allen
