And to be fair, he should have won a SB with the Raiders if the league didnt make up a rule on the fly in order to help the Patriots win
Yeah they would just have to win two more games if the refs didn't know the rule. Makes sense.

No. He's been out of coaching for over a decade and wasn't exactly keeping up with the evolution of the game his last few years as a coach. The game has long passed him by.

Next year Carr will be heard screaming, "jet blue, banana-banana, power 5, dog sweep, lightning, lightning, 72 flex, over, over, 64 fly, silver zoom - hut, hut"

Should be fun.

Unless Im reading it wrong, you are not giving Gruden credit for the Tampa Bay SB win

All im saying is because he was the former Raiders coach, a lot of Tampa players went on record saying Gruden had them prepared for everything the Raiders threw at them that day
What I am saying and it's true he was handed a SB winning team, and I am fairly certain Dungy would have won had he been retained.

I dont view Dungy the same way as you....I think he would have had a very short coaching career if he wasnt gifted one of the greatest QB's we have ever seen

Do you agree he assembled that Bucs team? Not sure how you or anyone can't see Gruden was gifted that SB, but to each their own I guess

I think being gifted players, and being gifted wins is 2 separate things

Gruden accomplished with Dungys' players what Dungy couldnt

I dont think I would give Dungy all the credit for that, he won a SB with Brad Johnson vs a Raiders team pretty heavily favored if I remember correctly

Raiders should hire a real candidate IMO. One that has been coaching within the last 5 years.,

I see Gruden's return to NFL coaching going only slightly better than Barry Melrose's return to NHL with the Lightning. Melrose coached 16 games before getting canned and so will Chuckie; the difference is 16 games is <20% of a season in the NHL and it's a full season in the NFL.

More jobs available than quality candidates IMO

If Im the Raiders, ill roll the dice on Gruden over a re-tread like John Fox or some shit like that

He better be a different coach with a different scheme/ideas than from 10 years ago or it's a brutal hire. if his staff is a get the band back together schtick, ignore the Raiders for about another 3 years.

That's a tough one - It may turn out like Gibbs... too long away from the game.
