I have more faith in Georgia Defense stopping Oklahoma Offense than Oklahoma Def. stopping UGA running. 2 years ago Clemson ran straight through OU defense for 312 yards on the ground (Watson only threw for 187). Can't see why UGA can't do the same with a better run game and better defense than Clemson 2 years ago. I could be wrong, maybe OU defense is better this time around because it's going to take more than just Mayfield to win the NC.
I'd give us a fighters chance.

Mayfield is a little bit better than he was in that game 2 years ago.
The OL is a little bit better than it was in that game 2 years ago.
Lincoln Riley a a little bit better than he was in that game 2 years ago.
On defense they're deeper in the front 7 than they were in that game 2 years ago.
Mike Stoops has the defense just good enough to keep us in games for the most part.

I really hope that OU can somehow pull off an upset to get another crack at Clemson. But, it seems like we're going to need a miracle or two? Going to need some of that "Sooner Magic"...

me too. hell, Oklahoma's likely to score 45+ by themselves!

No offense to the Oklahoma Offense, but they have played 4 defenses ranked in the top 50 in scoring.

Ohio St #21 31 points
Iowa St #29 31 points
Texas #31 29 points
TCU #11 38 Points the first time, 41 the second.

Georgia is the #4 scoring defense. I have no doubt Oklahoma will get points, but y'all are high as giraffe pussy if you think they are going to run open up and down the field like they are playing Baylor.

Georgia is going to run the ball and eat more clock than anybody they have played this year.

I expect this to be a great game, but I would not be surprised if the winner scored less than 35.

I would be shocked if the O/U was over by more than 5.

The good thing for OU is if it's a close game they have Baker Mayfield.

That Clemson team was a much bigger threat to throw the ball vs this Georgia team. And Clemson had quarterback run game which Georgia does not. Apples and Oranges.

Georgia has played only 5 teams in the top 50 in scoring offense.

I would be shocked if George stops boomer consistently on offense.

A statement like this can only be made by reading stat sheets and not watching games.

Yup, they have played 5...and those 5 scored 97 points...or less than 20 a game...and only one, Auburn in the 1st game managed to break 30.

But keep telling yourself that Oklahoma is going to light up Georgia for 45...

Nothing about either teams performance against decent competition says that Oklahoma breaks 35.

With the Georgia running game I expect Oklahoma to get 8-10 possessions. That isn't enough to get anywhere near 45.

Baker Mayfield brags about being a Justin Timberlake fan on Twitter. Not man enough to put up 45 on UGA IMO.

I don't know what to think about this game. Mike Stoops and the OU defense has sucked, most of this this year. I know OU will score points but will it be enough.

We are thin in our front 7, running a 4 man front. That doesn't matter because Dumbass Mike Stoops ALL to often runs a 4 man front with LB's or hybrid LB/DE. Most of the time, we have 2 Dlineman and 1 DE/LB and a LB.
Our LB crew is not very deep, with 1 true freshman and a undersized hybrid S/LB. OU will have to commit 4 true Dlineman and get better play out of our LB's, if we are going to stop the run. UGA, doesn't run a lot of A,B gap but more bounce out sweeps. Obo gets burned a lot, on cut backs and Murray, Beal and Kelley, are only gap sound about 50% of the time. So the safeties will have to come up and make plays.

If UGA, runs some formation, that Stoops hasn't seen them run, well they will roll. The guy is an absolute idiot. Hell WVU, ran the direct snap up and down the field. Mike Stoops had no answer, or adjustment. I keep thinking about this year and all of the times I wanted to see Mike Stoops fired. Nothing has changed.

If we can jump out and get a decent lead, I like our chances. UGA, is not built to score quickly. Get UGA, in 3rd and 5 or 6 yards. Put TRUE Dlineman on our front, gap control and Mike Stoops realize, it's not just the Red Zone, but the whole FUCKING field. I like our chances. If UGA, runs anything different, like the, direct snaps. Mike will have no answer.

Oh wait, was ISU maybe not 1 dimensional?
That game was on Mike Stoops, and believe it or not, Baker Mayfield.

We lost our featured back at the time and our best WR in that game. We fumbled on the ISU 5 yard line and missed a FG.

ISU was 3 dimensional. Good enough on defense, and mixed it up with Kempt/Lanning. Mikey boy couldn't keep up and our D was flat-footed for most of the 2nd half.

Any reasonable fan of either school can't peg this game. We're both here for a reason. ANYthing COULD happen.

Sick of waiting personally. I can only hope that our bowl prep is as good as it was last year, and as good as the last time we played a Kirby Smart defense.

You think UGA's defense is better than Clem's of 2015?
