We are now at the midway point -- 2 weeks after Playoff Committee announcement of playoff teams, 2 weeks before the playoff games -- and about 2 weeks after the last update, so it's time for another update.

Since my last update, the lines have continued to move in the same direction as earlier, just more slowly. The spreads are now a half point FURTHER in favor of both SEC teams:

- Alabama has gone from a -2.5 favorite over Clemson to a -3 favorite. Alabama is now favored by a full field goal.

- Georgia has gone from a -1.5 favorite over Oklahoma to a -2 favorite. This is a full 5-pt swing in Georgia's favor from the opening line of Oklahoma -3.

On the eve of the semifinal games, the final update:

Alabama -3 favorite over Clemson

Bama has held steady since the last update, for a total of 2 points movement in Alabama's favor since the opening line of Bama -1.

Georgia -2.5 favorite over Oklahoma

Baker Mayfield's illness has moved the line yet another half-point in Georgia's favor even after all the tremendous earlier movement in Georgia's favor. The total change has been incredible considering the opening line of Oklahoma -3; on an extremely high-volume event, the spread still shifted 5.5 points, completely flipping/reversing in Georgia's favor. Millions more dollars have been bet on Georgia than on Oklahoma.
