2004 Virginia Tech was at Fedex field in Washington, which is 288 miles from Blacksburg.
2013 Syracuse was at Met Life which is 242 miles from Syracuse.

I can't speak for Syracuse, but Tech was definitely an equal ticket dis

If you want to pretend those were homes games for those teams, like you like to pretend Dallas is a home game for us, then we might as well pretend Cal is a home game for you, that's only 50 miles further away than Blacksburg is from DC.

Of course FANS would rather have that . No one is saying great OOC games aren't awesome . I'm just pointing out that they're higher risk than the reward you get especially as a jig name program. A 9-0 OSU/USC/Bama/OU is going to be top 2 or 3 regardless of who they play OOC. So if you lose in conference you can regroup and make the playoff. Fans obviously love big OOC but it doesn't benefit the team enough to risk it.

If a team wants to prove they're one of the four best teams, go out there and play good fucking teams.

Vandy, Arkansas, Tenn, Mr and Mrs State collectively have 27 wins between them, that is an average of 5.4 wins compared to Oregon States one single win against an 0-11 FCS team. I don't have to pretend they are all that much better, they clearly are, not one of them has less than 4 wins and not one of them has a single win that is not better than Oregon State pathetic 3 point win over hapless Portland State.

Troy is the 10-2 Sun Belt Champ and beat a ranked team OOC...That's better than 14 B1G teams and 11 Pac-12 teams managed this year(Boise St snuck in there at the end to spoil the O-fer). So let's not pretend Troy is not a solid team that gave as good as they got all year. It's not like LSU lost 52-6 or anything.
