But, I'm pretty sure being arrested means a forfeiture of that scholarship. At least that's what it means for kids that don't come from a privileged family.
Normally a student(these might be kids to you and me, but they are grown adults) will be put on probation and possibly kicked off the team for the remainder of the year. Probation would mean, anything else they would be expelled for violating the terms of the Moral requirements/rules and etc. Lavar Balls works for a living, so he is hardly privileged in my opinion. Just because he has a really good job does not mean he is privileged and just because he is sending his kids through college doesn't make them privileged either.

It does mean, however for the time being many will consider him to be a thief and He will need to prove himself in order to regain his trust. If he comes clean and admits it was an act of stupidity and agrees to work hard at regaining everyone's trust -I believe he will get that second chance.

If that was a regular joe, if he did that, he would be going to prison and not being confined to a luxury hotel for a few weeks. That will teach him.
Quite frankly, considering this is China and known for violating human rights, I think China has been pretty decent about the entire deal. I agree an ordinary person would be in prison, but this is not an ordinary circumstance either

Expensive? From my perspective I doubt money is the concern. How about losing his freedom? 3-10 years is a lot of time lost for a basketball player - and away from his family.

What do we know about the other two? Not much of anything so how can we debate anything about their reasons for doing something like this? But the Balls, yes we know a plenty thanks to pops.
I have no problem with LiAngelo losing his freedom for three years to be honest. I think one of the problems in the USA is that we are too soft in criminals. That said, I think he will get about a month and be glad these kids aren't in a country like Iraq where they would cut his hand off and give it back to him in a bag

Agreed 100%.

Be real here. How many of you didn't do anything that could have gotten you arrested at 18-20?

I sure as hell did. Hell, I almost got arrested in Cancun on spring break one year for messing around with a girl on the beach. That was scary as hell.

We were both mostly naked and 2 cops snuck up on us. I didn't have my ID with me, and the cops took my clothes aside from my boxers and told me to get my ID from my hotel room. They waited for me on the beach. Of course I never returned. Lost my favorite pair of basketball shorts that night. I thought that was preferable to the potential of Mexican jail.
To a point I agree, but I got to tell you that I hate being stolen from. It is a despicable crime in which once a person has stolen from another person or business, they usually are like drunks that can't quit. Time after time they repeat the crime and each time they get caught, they use it as lesson to sharpen there skills as a thief. I really think China needs to come down hard on the kid so that he is taught never to steal again

I have zero sympathy for any of these 3 turds.

They went on a shoplifting spree in 3 different stores.

I agree.
Whatever happens to them happens.
Anyone who travels to another country better understand the laws of that land.
My guess is that everyone who traveled was warned.

The whole family is untalented SHIT. Pure Hype with big mouths who can't deliver on any of the BS they run on. . #2 NBA draft pick and the dud goes 0 points in 29 minutes and can't even shoot the ball correctly. For fuck sakes, you're in the NBA and no one has even taught you how to shoot a correct jump shot? The guy can't even pull and shoot going to his ride side.
:L:L:L:L:L:L

As is the nature of the NBA today. Its in a PITIFUL weak state. The glory days of the 80s, 90s, Early 00's are gone when you had legitimate great players only motivated to be greater.

Now we can plop down 10-20 mil on useless bums who can't even get their team in the post season, or past the first round, or even make a DENT in the stat board.

Pure trash.

Lonzo is basically Jeremy Lin equivalent except with a crappier shot with a loud mouthed idiotic father who should be in the loony bin

Here, this is from the 90s too so you'll love it

If the China really want to punish them, they need involve the NCAA and tell them they either get 5 years in prison or return to the states but transfer to play for Ernie Kent for the entire year.

Basketball commentators can't even use the word steal when it comes to LiAngelo, LiAngelo with the ball handed from the other team. Just call him Fredo anyway.

There is so much great young talent in the league. I am 100% certain the Warriors have only a chance at winning the next 2 years. By 2020 the rest of the league will have caught up.

Still think they do it, but where last year they went 16-1, this year feels more like 16-4, and next year 16-6+

Add: oops wrong thread. I'm high AF

Didn't hear the actual statements, but was told they did thank him.
They made a public announcement and they thanked Donald T in their statements to the press. I still think they should have let them sit in jail for at least a month though

lol... Trump is so petty.

I don't know about petty, but it was dumb to tweet that before they actually got a chance to thank him. makes it look like they only thanked him because he said something.
