No. Probably has something to do with half the leagues superstars out with season ending injuries.

In some cases, but in many cases, Miami and the Giants and the Bills now, to be specific, the lack of effort is evident, and really shouldnt be put on just injuries to stars

chad pennington
brett favre
jay cutler
drew bledsoe

4 decent QB's, 1 HOF lock, one maybe

before that we had marino and jim kelly, who both sucked.

These are not good QB's, the fact that you have to stretch to Jay Cutler and a washed up Brett Favre (his renaissance one season in Minny aside) just proves my point, not yours

yes, the answer is Chad Penington, the average Chad Penington is the best non Brady QB in the AFC East in the past 15 seasons

Thats brutal

I'd throw the Colts and Browns into that group too. You can see guys not going 100% on every play and that usually means the coach has lost the locker room. I'd hate to fire a guy after only two years, but sometimes it just doesn't look like it is going to work out.

Bills too now, just watch, it became evident vs the Jets, even more so against the Saints

Seems teams are tuning out their coaches much earlier than usual this season

I'm unsure we'd be seeing the insane amount of season-ending injuries this year if many guys were actually out there "quitting."

@Rock Strongo, are you covering dirt's health insurance costs? because it seems you have him frazzled on a daily basis. I mean, someone's gotta pay for all that zoloft, right? Be fair, bro.

Perhaps.

It's a singular example, but Richard Sherman had been playing with an achilles injury for weeks before he finally ruptured it.

If I was "quitting" I'd happily ride the bench until it healed up.

Oh sure, im not really talking about true SB or postseason contenders, Im talking about the teams that are heading or have been in the wrong direction

No way you can watch Miami last night and come to any other conclusion than this team wants no part of playing football tonight

Numbers Lie

No division has spent the past 15 seasons with teams as bad as the Jets/Dolphins and Bills
BS, look at the rankings in winning percentage in games played outside the division from 2002-2016.

NFC North:
Packers: 5th
Vikings: 18th
Bears: 21st
Lions: 29th

How about the NFC West?

Seahawks: 10th
Cardinals: 22nd
49ers: 27th
Rams: 32nd

How about the AFC South?
Colts: 2nd
Titans: 16th
Texans: 25th
Jaguars: 28th

Compare that to the AFC East

Patriots: 1st
Dolphins: 18th
Jets: 18th
Bills: 23rd

The only difference is that the Dolphins/Jets/Bills haven't had great seasons, but instead have been consistently slightly below average. While some of these other teams have had flash in the pan seasons while being horrendous otherwise.

This is correct. Those flash in the pans are nonetheless relevant I’d argue, however.

Exactly

The "Flash in the Pan" Jets of Rex Ryan actually stopped NE from going to the SB

Its just that the AFC East has less of that than any other division

Yep. I dont view the Pats any differently for it. May or may not have gotten them an extra SB or two, but that’s real deep into counterfactual and potential hater territory.
