your a 49'ers fan, the rest of the NLF has gotten better, expand your horizons

It has nothing to do with the Niners. The rest of the NLF is a lesser league, productwise.

oh do tell how that is

For starters, far and away more injuries...a problem that only this year has been on the radar due to the rash. It however, has been an evergrowing issue, and when you start losing tons of talent - especially the upper echelon guys - the league becomes a lesser one.

Yeah...I can see where this is going. We are halfway through the season and as of Thursday, there were 295 players on IR, the PUP list, etc. That is already more than the entire 2016 season, and generally this is a number that has been on the rise. This factually destroys the product, which makes it a lesser league. If you think your 'oh well, guys get hurt' response actually addresses this issue, then that stupidity is on you.

No I don’t see how I can say the game had gotten worse .....

The ir stat is intriguing , you got me there. But I wanna see the past 5-10 years to see the progressive escalation or if this is an outlier per say

There is no argument, and anyone who thinks it's an argument is someone who hasn't been watching the league for a long time, or looking to get their ass kicked. As I've stated previously, I could almost count on one hand the amount of major players who suffered the dreaded ACL/MCL/PCL injury in the entire decade of the 80's. For the most part, that was a career ender (Billy Sims, Dwight Stephenson, Williams Andrews) while Kellen Winslow and Curt Warner did return. Nowadays, that injury is commonplace where dozens of players every year go down.

That's not including all these 'tricep/bicep/pec/lis franc/etc. injuries that as far as I remember, never even existed up until quite recently. That alone, makes this league more unwatchable.

I am getting on my soapbox real quick on this issue, apologies in advance.

No I do not watch less. I love NFL and it would take something extreme to make me stop watching it. Even when the Seahawks were a 4-12 team I watched all the games.

Do I care that the players protest? Not at all. Do your thing man. However, as someone mentioned before I want the players to do something more concrete, come up with demands or something. The most infuriating part is that it would be really easy to demand specific changes. If someone were to come out and do this it would give real direction to a movement that is so far falling flat. The Bears guy (forgot his screen name) said it well, what do these guys actually want to happen? Less shootings? More accountability? We don't really know. They are just screaming "its not fair, someone do something."

I wish the NFL players that are kneeling would come out with more concrete ideas. They do have the ability to get lots of people thinking and talking about things, they just need to come out with a plan. Here is what I would like to see any NFL player do who wants to kneel start doing.

Black people are shot, arrested, and charged with crimes at a much higher percentage than their population would suggest. I.E., black people comprise about 12% of the national population, but account for about 70% of police shootings. (Statistics may not be exact but are relatively correct).

However, there is a county in the US where the arrest ratio and ticket ratio mirrors the population demographics. So in essence, black people are not discriminated agianst. That is Daytona County, Florida. Not coincidentally, the chief of police there, Michael Chitwood, has specific training to draw attention of police to racial bias and how to try to prevent that from affecting their decisions. this may not be the only factor but I am quite sure that it has a large effect.

My source is Radiolab podcast starting at minute 30.
Radiolab podcast: Shots Fired – Ferguson USA: Race and Criminal Justice in Historical Perspective

So as an NFL player who wants to bring attention to racial inequality in America, I would say "I am kneeling because of the unfair treatment of blacks people by police officers in this country. Until a racial sensitivity training program is enacted, similar to that of Daytona Police officers, and made mandatory across the country to address the problem I will continue to kneel."

Then you start a website and blast that website on twitter, facebook, instagram, in interviews, and get other players to do the same.

Now you have pointed to a specific problem and started a conversation about what a resolution would look like that people can actually get behind.

Again you state two years of injuries, where is the rest of the data

Last Sunday I watched 7 complete games (all recorded for expediency) and finished up at same time as the prime time game ended.

I might not even buy seasons tickets if I was in a market because I'd miss so many games I still want to see.

Title.

Add your thoughts, please.

This may need to be moved to the political board, but I think this should remain here unless it gets too political. The reason I post it here is because I want to get the feedback of NFL fans, not those who focus on politics. I feel I'd get a different result if I just posted it on the politics forum.

My personal thoughts: I will always stand for the national anthem. I always do my best to ensure I'm inside the stadium when it is being played, simply because I love showing my respect for my country. I don't care what players feel, they are on the field to provide entertainment, not political commentary. Therefore, I don't give a shit about how they feel about social justice issues. I feel like by boycotting the NFL, I'd be letting my political beliefs interfere with something that I enjoy watching.

I'm just curious if this is seriously impacting everyone's interest in the NFL.

I think most on here know my view of dissing my flag....I watch my team but won't buy anything relative to the team nor go to a game.....And some of those I've turned off for Gunsmoke reruns....
I'm hoping Jones and Kraft get the other owner votes they need to oust RG and get someone with a backbone in there to make it a rule, stand for the anthem or go to work somewhere else....

Did you make good money selling them off? Back when I was in college and the NFL ticket prices werent so outrageous the Eagles had a deal on crappy upper level seats that were $40 per game. If you bought the 10 games you'd get a 50% discount or 10 games for $200. I'd sell my Cowboy tickets every year for $200 and get the other 9 games for free. (2 of them being preseason). No way they have this deal anymore.
