2011 for me. 7 game series. Game 6 was the best game. Rangers were one strike away from winning their first series in both the 9th and the 10th innings.
This years series has to go to game 7 to even be in competition for best series of all time. Even then, it's just in the discussion. It's different for each fan. Most Cubs fans would say last years was the best.

the difference is one was played well...and the other was played in 2011.

When we see an absolutely massive jump in HR% (it's at a record pace, and HR's in general too despite K's being up) all of the sudden, in the span of months, continuing now for years, it's a fair question to ask. It is awfully hard to believe that MLB suddenly had every ho-bum player become power hitters; or that the league suddenly had an absolutely incredible power surge to this degree so quickly. Even random guys like Whit Merifield hit around 20 bombs. Whit... Merrifield...

the numbers have been trending up for years now.

This is like the 3rd year in a row the regular season HR record has been broken (by all 30 teams). ;

Precisely, it started as a hard jump, people talked about it, but I think most assumed it was just a weird bid of variance. Now we're on about year 2 or 3 of this and it's just accelerating at this point.

So much for "Good Pitching beats Good Hitting"

Seems like that statement becomes less and less true every year

History shows that when teams like these meet in the playoffs, the team like the astros historically does end up winning.

You said all of a sudden, there's not much sudden about 2017.

2014/2015, sure.

Not now.

Bullshit. There are plenty of theories, all relating to the construction of the balls.

Yeah, I think the most common one is "tighter winding in the core" which makes it a livelier ball.

On another note, Kershaw is killing his legacy

Last week a couple of Dodgers fans on here were talking serious exception to me saying that I wasn't sure his postseason struggles were over. I wasn't even derogatory, I just said that he's had some great games but the jury was still out from my perspective.

They got all sensitive and pulled some "yeah, but Kluber sucked this year" nonsense, as if one thing has to do with the other.

They were online during the game last night, I tagged them and asked about it, but they ducked.

I read this morning that he's given up more homeruns this postseason than any other pitcher in the history of baseball.

I just don't see how someone could not question his postseason makeup. He's arguably the best pitcher of his generation and he's got a 4.50 ERA in 118 playoff innings.

I'm still interested to see what their response is to Kershaw's start, so ... @OutlawImmortal @CatsTopPac, care to share your thoughts?

If there is such a thing as a cross-sport comparison, Peyton Manning seems almost too obvious a comparison.

Back under the Hammer Administration on tHoop, I got banned for starting a cross-sport comparison poll thread. I dared to ask the hard-hitting question; looking at Kobe Bryant's and Ben Roethlisberger's illustrious careers, who would you say is the better rapist?

I swear, Hammer banned me before I even had a chance to vote in my own poll.

So, I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this but, this World Series is AMAZING. Couldn't of asked for a better series (unless the Yankees were involved :-) ). But is this the best World Series of all-time? If it isn't what is?

DISCUSS!!
The only one I've seen in my lifetime that is even comparable to this one is the 2001 Fall Classic. This one might be better but '01 was so good that I can't say for sure until this one is over. But either way, this one is freakin' amazing!
