If the play was called correctly on the field, it would have been almost impossible for the Lions to snap the ball. I see nothing wrong with the rule. Makes much more sense than basically awarding a team with a free timeout in that situation even though they had none.

Same as a chains measurement. How would you feel if the refs came out and measured if you had a first down. Then said the game was over.

Plus he was in anyways. And it was called that way live. It CERTAINLY wasn't indisputable evidence that he was short of tye go alone.
