He's not better than Cutler, not even close.

That's very debatable. Jay Cutler being better than someone at something is probably the most debatable thing in sports.

He quit the 49ers. He didn't quit the NFL.
If he didn't have another job lined up, he shouldn't have quit. Too many of these prima donnas think they're soo good that teams are waiting to pouce on them. A one trick pony who's offense has been figured out and shut down should be smarted or surround himself with smarter people and known better. Pretty simple. Either way, he made his bed.
Bad thing for Kaep is his girlfriend is poison in his ears.

I know. That still doesn't answer why you feel the need to defend such a poopy QB as Kaepernick.

Because there are much more, in your words, poopy quarterbacks that are starting for an NFL team right now that don't have the talent in their whole body that Kaepernick has in just his legs. Had he not made a scene last year, this would be a non-issue. It's all based on his off the field stuff. Much less talented QBs have starting jobs right now. Take the political stuff away from the conversation and tell me that, looking at the talent pool of QBs right now, that Kaepernick doesn't start for about 5-6 teams right now.

People.. Kaep has no job for the same reason Tebow has no job. No one thinks the media hype that comes with these QBs is worth having the guy as a back up.

Plain and simple

I just don't get it.... for the past couple of years, people of sound mind did not like his style of play, nor did they regard him as a solid QB. He takes a knee as a backup.... and now people have lost their minds, and everyone is racist. :L Not to mention, he already had a contract that he opted out of, and who knows what his salary demands are.

IF he'd be willing to come in on a veterans' minimum? Hell yeah. Kick the fucking tires all day.

Punished for the same sins many others are currently doing.

And it isn't even a mortal sin.

Kaep was going to be cut if he didn't refuse his option. Not exactly quitting, just getting out there ahead of the cut.

Regardless of his limitations, he can still run and did limit his turnovers last year. That alone makes him better than most backup QBs and likely a few starters. Team has to want to alter their offense to fit him, but in a backup role that should be acceptable compared to using guys like Tolzien, Keenum, Petty, Savage, Landry Jones, Osweiler, Manuel, Geno, Rudock, Beathard, etc. I can see if you have a guy you're developing for the future as your lone backup, but some of these retreads need to be coaching high school teams already.

At what fucking price tag? You do realize that most rosters were set prior to him opting out of his contract?

It's all political, unfortunately. 100%. Can't convince me otherwise.

Bullshit. When Bridgewater went down last year and the Vikings options were limited, PRIOR TO his ill-advised stance on the sideline, I was anit-Kaep. I didn't want him then, nor did any of the other teams.... when it was known he was available for a trade.

Backup QBs typically aren't asking for $8 - $11MM per year, either....

Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the 49ers in March, before the draft. So rosters were NOT set.

Also, you got Cutler making $10M, Glennon making $8M, Tyrod Taylor making over $7M. Those QBs have literally done nothing for their teams. Kaepernick has playoff wins, he's an NFC champ, played in a super bowl. He showed he can still throw the ball last year with 16 TDs in 14 games. Only 4 INTs. One of the highest INT:TD ratios in the league. He can't carry a team though. He needs a good structure around him and the Niners 100% didn't have that the last 3 years he was there.
