I would not. These are two huge events that honor two huge men. Sitting him to me says 3K's is less important and it's not. Just two different reasons to be recognized. Neither would see it as taking away from the other and that is why they both are HOF'ers

To add to his point, it would also be bad for business. If Beltre only gets one hit tonight, and needs one more on Sunday. The game Sunday would probably be a sell out with both honoring pudge and likely seeing Beltre get his 3000th hit. I'd be disappointed if it wasn't a sell out with those circumstances.

I don't think they're doing anything of note during the game for Pudge (no scheduled event)
