Little update. As of right now we are still waiting for sgt Brutus and tigersbleaux to check in. Neither have logged in in a while, so I sent an email to both. Olyduck and ericd7633 joined, they are going to pick up 3 from the free agent pool before the draft. I think even if the two we're waiting on don't show up we should still go with 12 (so we can do two divisions), @SJ76 is interested, so if both don't show up we'll need one more.

It's probably not to early to start thinking about the draft, early to mid August seems like a good time, so if you guys want to throw out some times that would typically be good, we can do it that way.

Remember, we will only have P5, ND, and BYU in the player pool, so don't keep any mountain West players. I deleted those teams from the pool, but if they're already on your roster they won't disappear until you drop them.

Again we are keeping 3 players (new guys can add 3 before the draft), so make sure you drop the guys you aren't keeping by the draft. No rush for any of this, there's still time, but it would be nice for the new guys to have some options, so the decent thing to do would be to not wait for the day before the draft to do it.

We can do a random snake style draft order again this year, once we have everyone locked in I'll just hit the randomize button once. I think we've done this long enough to have our shit figured out though, I say let's plan on keeping the league how it is after this year, if we lose a guy or two every year we can just find someone to take over their team, and we can do the typical, shittiest team gets first pick for future drafts. Or if you guys don't like that, we can come up with something more fun than the randomize button. I'll adjust the draft so there's enough rounds to fill out every roster spot plus reserves minus 3.

I think that's all I got for now, I'll make sure all the appropriate boxes are checked for the draft so we don't end up with a debacle like last year, input for rules or anything mentioned above is always welcome.

Good question, I don't know, I suppose we could do it where you guys just draft the first 3 rounds with no one else coming in until the 4th, I don't know how else to work it out other than free for all, but having with some kind of order to it probably isn't a bad idea, especially since we can potentially have 2 other new members on top of you guys.

Yeah, I just brought it up because I think it's probably the most fair thing to do. I'm guessing odds are pretty good we'll want some of the same players. as for the draft im good whenever. most likely only thing that will get me is work. i work all the time. if im not at work im on call and they can call me in to work.
sleep doesnt matter to me. so if we do it at 2 am im still in.

I like the idea of keepers, but we don't have to. Here's the issue though, from the beginning it's been hard to get input from everyone, the keeper discussion has come up a few times, and if we're gonna do it we might as well start this year, if you guys would rather not, that's fine too. We're gonna stick with keepers unless the majority gets a vote in against it in the next few days, because other than opinions about the number to be kept, no one has said they don't want keepers until now, and this includes discussions last year.

I'm all for being democratic with all the rules, and have tried to be from the beginning, but sometimes getting input about these things is like pulling teeth. I understand most probably just don't care that much and are up for whatever, but it's not helpful when we get to a point where someone doesn't like something.

I don't think keepers are that big of deal. It's not like you pick up a Tom Brady and get him for the next decade. Most these guys have a 2 year shelf life at most and then you have injuries.

It's a fun tweak that doesn't give anyone that big of a advantage.

I like having keepers. It makes it worth taking a chance on a freshman or sophomore later on in the draft in hopes they pan out. If we're doing a vote, I vote for keepers.
